25.01.2022 Attention all dog owners! Brisbane City Council's year-long trial of dog off-leash areas on Brisbane's foreshore is now finished. The trial areas at Sandgate ...and Manly will now continue as foreshore dog off-leash areas. The foreshore dog off-leash area at Nudgee Beach will return to a dog on-leash area from November 30. Councillor Adam Allan said Council has decided to return the Nudgee Beach foreshore dog off-leash area to a dog on-leash area to better protect shorebirds and other users of the area. An alternative off-leash area for dogs can be found nearby at Tuckeroo Park (Nudgee Road) or at Sandgate foreshore dog off-leash area. Dogs must be on a leash outside these off-leash areas. There is onsite signage at the entrance points to foreshore off-leash areas. Make sure you check signage and site maps. Full info: https://bit.ly/2UQ5bVW

23.01.2022 The complete collection of body language articles relating to eyes are located in a separate category for ease: https://www.silentconversations.com/eyes-dog-bod...y-language/ Dogs can subtly communicate with their eyes - What is the shape? Are they round and large, almond-shaped, or squinty? Are they staring, or is the gaze averted? Do the eyes have a hard stare or a softer look to them? Can you see the whites of the eyes (known as ‘whale eye’)? Are they blinking? Has the pupil size changed?

22.01.2022 These photos are a stark reminder that MOST dogs don’t like to be hugged. Most of them will tolerate it because they love us but it stresses them out. Dogs don’...t just bite out of the blue, they give off all sorts of signals but we humans ignorantly miss them. You can see from the first two photos how he’s leaning away, if only someone had said He’s not enjoying that, please stop. This dog knew the girl well and she had hugged him before. What she didn’t know was that he had an undiagnosed condition which was causing him pain and this particular day, he just had enough. Please learn the signs. Look honestly at photos of you with your dog, you might be surprised that what you thought was a lovely moment was only enjoyed by one of you. Please TEACH YOUR KIDS TO RESPECT DOGS or it could end in tragedy for your child and the dog.

07.01.2022 The reason I never have an entire female, who is in season, in my house. I'd utilise my girl's breeder when they are in season, to prevent entire males breaking my fence to get in!!

04.01.2022 This is currently an issue in the N.T. and W.A. but getting know how to prevent this is key. Have a read please. This relates to a Brown Dog Tick bourne disease!
