09.01.2022 With all this beautiful weather we can expect our Aussie snakes to be waking from their slumber. If you or someone you are with is bitten by a snake, remember the Pressure Immobilisation Technique (PIT): 1) Try to stay calm and keep the patient calm and completely still. Ensure the patient and the limb stays completely still. Bring transport to the person bitten by the snake. 2). If available, apply a pressure bandage to the affected limb, starting at bite site with firm p...ressure up the limb as far as possible.
