24.01.2022 Our roads in these wet conditions right now have the potential to be life-threatening. It takes one single thing to go wrong and your vehicle can become a weapo...n. Look after each other! Paramedics have treated 5 patients after a horror bus and car crash in Liverpool this morning. A 13-year-old girl and a woman in the car have been transported to Liverpool Hospital in critical conditions. The driver was also treated by paramedics and transported to hospital in a stable condition. Two people on the bus, including a 14-year-old boy, have also been taken to hospital but are in stable conditions. #NSWstorm #wetweather #NSWAmbulance #paramedics

24.01.2022 A busy Saturday night for B platoon attending two MVAs. Thankfully only minor injuries in both incidents. A reminder to stay safe on the roads and drive to the conditions.

24.01.2022 Tuesday will be a dangerous day! Based on the latest forecast, there is likely to be widespread Severe and Extreme fire danger. This is expected to stretch fr...om the Queensland border to the south coast, and across the Central West. There is already extensive fire activity across the north coast and northern NSW areas. These fires won’t be contained in time. Under these conditions, these fires will spread quickly and will threaten homes and lives. These conditions will be as bad, if not worse, than those experienced on Friday as they will be across a much broader area including large population centres like Sydney. There are significant resources committed to fires and they are limited. If you are threatened by fire, you may not get help. What can you do? 22.01.2022 It’s official. Due to the forecasted combination of high temperatures, strong winds and low humidity on Tuesday the NSW Rural Fire Service have declared a fire... danger rating of Catastrophic. If a fire starts and takes hold during Catastrophic fire danger conditions, lives and homes will be at risk. Advice for people in areas of Catastrophic fire danger include: : Avoid bush fire prone areas. A safer area may be a large town or city, shopping centres or facilities well away from bushland areas. : Schools in identified high risk areas will be closed. Schools will notify affected students. Start making arrangements now. : If you are unable to leave, identify a safe location which may be nearby, this may include a Neighbourhood Safer Place. This is the first time since new Fire Danger Ratings were introduced in 2009 that Catastrophic fire danger has been forecast for Sydney. A statewide total fire ban has been declared for all areas of NSW for all of Monday and Tuesday. More info: www.rfs.nsw.gov.au https://www.facebook.com//a.10150499693/10157411048995552

09.01.2022 It's #FlashBackFriday, so we've got a trip down memory lane to 1925 for you. NSW didn't have an official statewide Fire Brigade until 1909, when the NSW Fire Br...igade was established. Before this, there were lots of individual units set up as independent Fire Brigades, run by insurance companies as well as volunteers in country towns. In 2011, the NSW Fire Brigade became known as Fire and Rescue NSW, to reflect the wider scope of services the organisation offered to the community. #Fairfield Fire Station on William st first opened in 1923 and was eventually replaced by Fire and Rescue NSW Station 073 Yennora in 2016 (which still operates today). Fire and Rescue NSW Station 049 Cabramatta used to be right in the shopping CBD, but moved to their new station in 2012 on the Cumberland Highway. The old fire station, which sits next door to Centrelink, still remains and was bought by the Lu group in 2015. Check out the firemen and fire truck from 1925, in comparison to the modern day fire trucks we have today. Photo: Museum of Fire / Fire and Rescue #Cabramatta

04.01.2022 Factory fire Moorebank. Numerous appliances from across the GSA attended this fire to assist. It was a long and protracted incident which is still active and will be for some time. All attending crews did an amazing job battling an intense fire that increased rapidly.

04.01.2022 It was business as usual yesterday along with being on high alert with catastrophic fire conditions. It was a busy shift for B platoon. We attended a hazmat incident, Mva persons trapped and a double house fire. A great example of being prepared for anything. Thanks to all attending crews on a long, hot day.

01.01.2022 This evening we attended a caravan fire in Canley Vale. A quick response from all crews resulted in containing the fire to the caravans with only minor damage to structure and surrounds.
