20.01.2022 Since we don’t have a sign at our station, here’s one from our friendly neighboring station, Gordon. :)

20.01.2022 Congratulations to one of our former Lane Cove firies, Ben Swift on both this award and a great save! https://www.theherald.com.au//the-new-lambton-petrol-stat/

19.01.2022 CHANGE YOUR CLOCK, CHECK YOUR SMOKE ALARM Good people of Lane Cove and our surrounding areas: Daylight saving ends early this Sunday morning, 7 April, so FRNSW and fire services across the country are again encouraging people to check their smoke alarms when they change their clocks.... More than half (56%) of fatal house fires between 2000 and 2014 had no smoke alarms. Most of these deadly fires also occurred between midnight and 6am when people were asleep.

17.01.2022 SWIFT WATER RESCUE STRIKE TEAMS | We've heard the phrase Strike Team used for bushfires, but did you know that Fire and Rescue NSW has Strike Teams for many typ...es of emergencies? Today Fire and Rescue Firefighters from Regentville, Wollongong, Eastwood, and Hurstville have formed two Strike Teams of Swift Water Rescue operators. These teams are being Pre Deployed to the North coast where they will respond to rescue incidents where required. As the wet weather increases more strike teams can be formed to help other areas as required. #PreparedForAnything #ProtectTheIrreplaceable #MoreThanFire #Rescue

12.01.2022 After a few days of exhausting work and heartbreaking scenes up north, Lane Cove 61 station crew were thrilled to see the dedication of CFU Unit MHP113 of Lindfield at their annual BBQ and were honoured to present 10 dedicated and knowledgeable CFU members with their 10 year service medals. This CFU unit meets every Wednesday for training as they have firsthand knowledge of the destruction of bushfire season after fires tore through this area during the fires fifteen years ago. Congratulations to all of you for taking action and maintaining an excellent action plan. For information on becoming a CFU volunteer program, visit: https://www.fire.nsw.gov.au/page.php?id=133

04.01.2022 Happy Birthday to You! Happy Birthday to you! Happy Birthday Fire and Rescue NSW Station 068 Narrabeen It was 100 years ago today (3 February 1920) that Narrabe...en Fire Brigade's first station was officially opened. The Brigade was appointed from 1 February but it wasn't until 3rd that the station officially became operational. The original station was a temporary portable premises on Devitt Street. The brigade would occupy this site until their new station opened in 1931. Happy Birthday to Narrabeen Fire Brigade! The Museum looks forward to being involved in centenary celebrations later this month! #FRNSW Fire and Rescue NSW #History #HappyBirthday (Photograph courtesy Northern Beaches Library)
