22.01.2022 Hi All, We have an update about out Santa run this year. We were due to help Santa travel around Riverstone to say hello to all the good boys and girls however given the current situation Santa has decided to stay in the North Pole until Christmas Eve Night. We are extremely disappointed that we are unable to bring some joy to the community this Christmas period, however community safety must come first and we must do our part where possible.... We would like to wish the whole community a very Merry Christmas.

19.01.2022 An important message for road users when they are on the road when we are responding to an emergency using lights and siren. Some good advice from our mates at NSW Police.

09.01.2022 A milestone of a tragic day for Riverstone and the memories of our past fire fighters from Riverstone fire station. The Meatworks fire etched a tragic record in history for our quiet town. We remember those who lost their lives 50 years ago.

08.01.2022 PREPARED FOR ANYTHING. Along with world class training, a big part of our capability is our cutting edge equipment. Fire and Rescue Station 83 Riverstone had the chance to debut our new Personal Protective Clothing on a call today. The new equipment is designed to allow us to operate more safely and more effectively in our core mission of protecting our community. This means better firefighting to meet the ever changing nature of our work. Keep an eye out for the new look.

07.01.2022 Just after 8am this morning Schofields were responded to a House Fire. While on route the call was changed to a gas leak on fire. On arrival we found there was ...a ruptured 32mm gas pipe alight directly next to a 11Kw electricity kiosk which had also caught fire. Approx 3 meters away was a 2 story house in danger of catching alight from the fire. The crew from Schofields quickly got to work to protect the house using a line of hose with FRNSW Riverstone arriving shortly after to assist with a second line of hose. All residents were evacuated by NSW Police to a distance of 200 meters for their safety. Crews continued to apply a protective water spray for some time utilizing crews from Kellyville and Blacktown stations until the Gas company could shut supply to the area. First Aid was rendered by FRNSW Riverstone to 1 worker who received burns to his arms prior to Brigade arrival and was assisted by NSW Ambulance on their arrival and transported to hospital. 06.01.2022 This week, FRNSW Riverstone revised our skills around Road Crash Rescue. We were lucky to have our local rescue experts from Fire and Rescue NSW Station 63 Blacktown join in to show us what they do best. A big thank you from the Riverstone team. Motor Vehicle Accidents make up a significant portion of our work, particularly as we head into the holiday period. Be aware of increased road traffic, and never drive tired.

06.01.2022 With warmer weather on the way, have you prepared your property for summer? A bush fire could start with no notice and spread quickly under the right conditions. Preparation is key. Prepare your property today.

05.01.2022 As the COVID-19 pandemic changes the way we go about our lives, our firefighters and support staff continue to ensure we remain prepared for anything. You may see our firefighters wearing a mask, we'd appreciate it if you could also wear yours if we visit your home or workplace.
