Maybe travelling our own "backyard" for the next little bit is not such a bad thing - Doesn't mean you have to do it on your own either. There is sooooo much to see and do!!!. 03.01.2022 *** STAY HERE AND HOLIDAY *** I have just had the pleasure of spending a long weekend back up in the Whitsundays and whilst it was great to see a full aircraft in both directions it is also very easy to see that by still having our borders closed 7 months on it is taking a massive toll on tourist hotspots that depend on this business. But, this can also work in our favour too as the tourist. ... I managed the best seat in town for sunset drinks (and didn't have to arrive at 2pm to get it). Dined at an amazing Italian restaurant (which I will make a must from now on) in Airlie beach on a Saturday night with no reservation and the best service! Had one of the top 10 beaches in the world nearly all to ourselves AND I didn't get a flipper to the head when snorkelling the reef.... That is a total win in my books. Domestic border restrictions are easing and we have an amazing country full of diversity with a little something here for everyone. So the next question would be where can I currently travel? Queensland: Open to all except some NSW and all VIC residents. Residents of Northern NSW can enter QLD from 1 October and vice versa. As of November 1, All NSW residents will be able to travel to QLD and vice versa if there are 28 days of no community transmission. New South Wales: Open to all except Victorians. Victoria: Open to all but with major restrictions in place. South Australia: Open to all states and territories except VIC until December 2020 (estimated). Northern Territory: Open to all except VIC. As of November 2, The NT will reopen to regional Victoria if cases remain low. Western Australia: Closed to all states and territories until 2021 (estimated). Tasmania: As of October 26, Tasmania will reopen its border to South Australia, Queensland, Western Australia, the Northern Territory and the ACT residents. It will remain closed to all other states and territories until further notice. Australian Capital Territory: Open to all except Victorians. From 1am Saturday, 31 additional New South Wales local government areas will be declared h...otspots and no one from Sydney will be allowed into Queensland. Queensland residents returning will have to isolate in a hotel for 14 days at their own expense. Nothing is more important than keeping Queenslanders safe. #covid19au
