23.01.2022 A grade 6 class at Whistler Waldorf School in Whistler, Canada have been working towards a heart challenge through the school year...to make one thousand pocket hearts as part of our kindness project! The best bit for me is that this project was set up by Jo, who was my little host sister when I spent a year in Canada on a Rotary exchange program in 1994! What a beautiful thing to see that connection coming full circle with these kids sewing hearts 26 years later Life is pretty beautiful, hey? xx

16.01.2022 I am taking hearts to my son’s high school today. The teachers have been extraordinary over the Melbourne lockdowns-caring for the students as well as teaching them. All staff - teachers, admin, bus drivers etc need a heart to remind them they are loved and appreciated. ~ Renee Huge thanks to all school staff who have held it together for our kids this year...you are amazing

05.01.2022 Yes, this is a photo of the dirty, unglamorous area under my house. It’s also a story about finding heart in the most unexpected places... This year, I’ve had to have some major work done to install a proper drainage system in my house. We had builders here for weeks, doing hard manual labour and it was dirty, tough, expensive and stressful. Each day after they left, I’d pop down to see how things were coming along and one day, this is what I saw. A heart amidst the dirty rub...ble. A dirt heart, spray-painted hot pink. A couple of weeks later, I was chatting to the builders and asked one of them...what’s with the heart? Is that intentional? He got all sheepish and shuffled his feet a bit, then said well, I was here one day and that lump of dirt came out of the earth in a perfect heart shape! I couldn’t just throw it away, so I propped it up there...then the spray paint was there, so I just.... *shuffle shuffle* I asked him if he knew that I run a project based around hearts. He didn’t...he just didn’t want a good heart to go to waste. How beautiful is that? It made my day, and that heart is staying there under my house forever! 01.01.2022 A beautiful article in our local paper recently about a collaborative project between Frangipani Fabrics Li-VeTasmania and 1000 Hearts, with children learning to sew and making hearts for the paediatrics ward at our local hospital simply divine!
