18.01.2022 Well done 15 Battalian. What a great march out parade.

15.01.2022 SUSPENSION OF AUSTRALIAN ARMY CADET ACTIVITIES OUR CONTRIBUTION TO THE COMMUNITY TO TAKE AFFECT AT MIDNIGHT (2359hrs) on 16 MAR 20. Government and Defence have enacted a series of measures to reduce and slow the risk of Coronavirus (COVID-19) spreading within the Australian Community. The AAC program is undertaken within the community and the Army and Community partnership is at its core. It has been assessed that, at this time, the greatest contribution the AAC can make to... our Nation is to suspend all community-based and public cadet activities in order to assist in slowing the spread of COVID-19. This measure will assist in protecting both the wider community and those members of the AAC who are assessed as potentially vulnerable (ie. over 30% of AAC members are in the vulnerable category due to age or specific pre-existing medical conditions). The following activities are suspended: a. All parade nights undertaken in Community Based Units. b. All weekend bivouac and overnight activities. c. All cadet activities undertaken within the community. This includes fund raising, sausage sizzles, and public recruiting activities. d. All ceremonial support activities undertaken within the community. This includes support to ANZAC Day activities. e. All field exercises. This includes the National Adventure Training Award. Key Timings are: a. Suspensions take affect at midnight (2359hrs) on 16 Mar 20. b. These suspension remain in force until 1 May, after which additional constraints may continue to be applied. The AAC is core to the partnership between Army and the Australian Community. Suspending AAC activities at this time is seen as a positive step in supporting the Nation during a period when we all have a moral responsibility to reduce and slow the risk of COVID-19. Please contact CAPT (AAC) Alexandra Verrall If you have any further question. 0455 588 558.

14.01.2022 This year, commemorating ANZAC Day will be like no other in modern history. We will be coming together in spirit, but not marching together side by side or moun...ting Catafalque Parties to honour our Veterans and Service personnel for their sacrifices. We can however, individually "Light up the Dawn" in our own residence. Our Cadet Leadership group have stated that to them, ANZAC Day means: "Honouring, commemorating and remembering those brave Australian and New Zealand soldiers, sailors and airmen who shaped our countries." "A time for us to honour the past and present servicemen and women and to pass on the spirit of the Anzac's with the next generation." "Remembrance, respect, camaraderie, and most importantly selfless sacrifice." Just because we are not commemorating together, it does not lessen our gratitude to those men and women who have served: those currently serving; those deployed on Operations domestically and overseas; and those who have paid the ultimate sacrifice to ensure we enjoy our freedom today. I am confident that the ANZAC Spirit is alive in each and every AAC SQLD BDE Cadet and Staff member. While this torch burns brightly among us, the sacrifices of our past and present Servicemen and women will never be forgotten or taken for granted. We will remember them. LEST WE FORGET. Rob Brennan COLONEL Commander Australian Army Cadets SQLD BDE

14.01.2022 Remembrance Day, which was originally called Armistice Day, commemorated the end of the hostilities for the Great War (World War I), the signing of the armistice, which occurred on November 11, 1918 the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month. Lest We Forget
