25.01.2022 Blue Mountains landscape and installation artist Natasha Daniloff talks to Wendy Chai and Brad Diedrich about her work practises and how she is dealing with the VOVID-19 lockdown. Having a unique personal cultural history forms a significant part of Natasha Daniloff’s creative story. A Russian heritage which includes having lived in Iran with her family after escaping the communist regime before coming to Australia, has shaped Natasha’s work as a painter and mixed media arti...st. Her abundant output reveals her love for landscape work, but also her passionate belief in the arts as curative and formative soul work. Her message is crucial for all of us in the arts during this climate of devaluation. You can find out more about Natasha at natashadaniloff.com. Her website is currently being redesigned by Brad Diedrich and will be updated soon. See more

25.01.2022 As we say goodbye to the artists of our 'Beauty of the Beast' exhibition let's take another look at some of the short videos they created to give us an incite to their work and process. Here's painter COLETTE JONQUIERES with the first -'Tommy's Eyes'. https://youtu.be/nQ3lssLbUn8 ___________________________________________________________... \COLETTE JONQUIERES Painter This video is about her friend Tommy and the goat painting that has his eyes. Collette states about her work: "Over the last nine months I’ve been working on a series of portrait paintings using goats as my subjects, but with a twist. The paintings are based on people I know. Using the principals of human portraiture, I wanted to create a vocabulary of facial expression and features which seem to echo our own physical characteristics and personality traits. Ones that remind us of ourselves, where the viewer may find that the creatures they are looking at may be somewhat familiar to themselves. As in the previous animal portraiture work, I have created knitted landscapes as the background, but in this instance, instead of using landscapes that surround me, I have where possible, created landscapes that the people I know live in, or have had a connection to in the past."

13.01.2022 Two works from Canadian Sculptor Ellen Jewett have just arrived from Ontario for the ‘ Beauty of the Beast’ Exhibition at Gang Gang Gallery which is on at the gallery till to 21st September. Ellen was born in Markham Ontario Canada and took to shaping three dimensional forms naturally at a young age. In 2007 Ellen completed her post secondary honours degree in Anthropology and Fine Art at McMaster University. While finishing her undergraduate degrees Ellen worked in medica...l illustration, exotic animal care and was teaching a children’s class on stop motion animation. By the time she presented her thesis, Ellen's academic and artistic interests in the biological where intrinsically interwoven. Considered by those who know her as a natural entrepreneur, Ellen set out on her own path as a career artist while still in high school, spending long summer weekends travelling to exhibitions. Ever the curious soul, while working as an artist Ellen has continued to study art and science respectively. According to Ellen, it all informs her art; enriching the content of the unconscious narrative flow. Don’t miss out on this rare chance to observe this exquisite art at close hand. http://www.ellenjewettsculpture.com/ On till 21st Sep Beauty Of The Beast Colette Jonquieres, Chris Stevenson, Will Hazzard, Martin Garibay, Gav Barbey, Barry Smith And Sculptor Ellen Jewett Gang Gang Gallery 206 Main Street Lithgow NSW 2790 Australia https://gggallery.com.au/ 0408 514 440 See more
