25.01.2022 A great example of how trusting and obliging our youngsters are. Today 3 of our rising 5 year olds left to go to summer school with Ben. None of these horses have ever been near a float let alone travel for an hour and a half in one. After a very positive weaning with super handling all our youngsters run in a big herd and only handled every 12 weeks for their drench and trim. It go’s to show what a positive start can do. The rather voluptuous chestnut going on last is OSO HARMONY ( KP Debonair x AM Helena) the grey mare OSO KITE (Oso Last Eclipse x Botusa Park Krystelle) the the chestnut gelding OSO EXQUISITE (Brag Ngood x KP Ellie May) Excited to see them in a few months hopefully a bit slimmer lol

21.01.2022 Today’s rider review is from a young lady who has totally entrenched herself in Oso and endurance for the past 13 years! No introduction needed for Miss Poppy and her spunky mini Mare (14.1hh with shoes!!) OSO DIZZY (KP Silver Implication x AM Danae). What a fabulous ride they both had taking 4th Junior in the 120km ride. Poppy’s words!!... Where can I start this little pocket rocket smashed bullio like it was a walk in the park (this was her first time going over 80km). Pre ride was a bouncy start to the weekend this then kicked the nerves up but I knew I would be fine, riding with two of Australia’s best riders Ben Hudson and Tori Bice. They all flew round the first leg and the second leg. Sadly Tori vetted out and Ben and Dorothy were vetting in quicker so they went ahead of me and Dizzy. The weather took a turn for the worst on the last two legs which I rode alone however my tough little pony put her head down and powered through the slippery, boggy ground and horrid rain. We finished with flying colours and had 60 heart rates all day. Then doing her first BC workout finishing it with a bang. I couldn’t have asked for more. Thank you to all the crew and my riding buddies. All the support at home by everyone especially Chloe for helping me prepare this little mare. Mum and Linda for allowing me to ride this legend of a horse and dad for all the support in the vet ring and out on track (and for missing me and strapping other peoples horses lol). I can’t wait for the future!

20.01.2022 A mini Friday foto dump!! I think everyone is so focused on the State Champs to take pics !!! Heres a few good ones!

20.01.2022 Another youngster returned from Ben Hudson the very handsome OSO KALAHADIAN (HUN X KORDILASSIE). This high percentage polish gelding is not only athletic and forward moving he is also absolutely stunning!! Love his cheeky look at the camera . Both Chloe Hayden and Shea Reynolds (rider)are in charge of his next steps of his promising career!!

16.01.2022 5 of the 9 160km NSW State Oso horses doing their final big ride today. Super ride with moving crew points and a mock up VGIH at the end to help coach our newbies in the art of cooling and getting our athletes into vetting pronto!!! Lots of lessons learned, tweaking and fine tuning for us all! A huge year emotionally for everyone .. this is take 3 and everyone is feeling the nerves and anxiety leading into a championship ride with only a few rides under our belt as a team and a huge team ( biggest yet) but this is what we do .... we work as a team to do the very best we can for number 1 our horses then our dedicated loyal COVID team who all deserve a chance to shine ( any excuse to shy Enigma )

15.01.2022 Next up my very close up and personal account of the 80km ride. Thanks to a Go Pro cam strapped to my chest I can take you with me on the absolutely talented pure bred mare OSO ENIGMA (SDA Silver Legend x KP Silver Eyre). After a year of broken bones, covid and personal tragedy I decided to give Enigma a year off after her awesome 2019. Focusing on her flat work to develop top line and core strength ( thanx Chloe!) on my return from months away I was easily able to make the call to finish the year with a few rides. What a difference the time off made.... one of the best rides I’ve ever ridden. Enigma felt so strong and I couldn’t get her into vetting quick enough with super quick HR recovery. The icing on the cake was winning the Best Condition award!! Thanks to Bullio and Matar Stables for sponsoring the rug .

15.01.2022 After a weekend safely tucked away getting to know his surroundings here at Oso, our beautiful 2019 colt ( yep got age wrong on last clip ) Silver Oso Showman got his first taste of a paddock in weeks! His movement is just breath taking with that powerful hock driving action he is everything we are looking for as a future sire. Not to mention his near perfect legs and feet which is so hard to come by nowadays! Heath and I took our time watching our newest edition was safe and sound.... the ducks on the dam are very scary!!!

13.01.2022 So Take 3 of the endurance season at the Matar Stables Bullio Cup certainly paid off for Team Oso. All the hard work, sweat and tears was well worth it. With 9 Oso horses in camp and a weekend of unpredictable weather a very small strapping team we knew it wouldn’t be a walk in the park. However we managed 8/9 completions...and 5 horses presenting for best conditioned today. Many personal goals achieved and so many individual stories from the riders to tell I’ve decided to... break up the post with a few words from the riders and film and pictures. Here are the results !! 120km Oso Dizzy - Poppy Kettlewell 4th Junior Oso En Garde - Shea Reynolds - MW completion (first 120 for both horse and rider) Oso Desperado - Tamara Gibson - MW completion (first 120 for both horse and rider) 100km Oso Dorothy- Ben Hudson - Completion . First ride out of novice 80km Oso Enigma - Amanda Kettlewell- 3rd MW - BEST CONDITION - 13 month rule done Oso Diamond Dazzler - Chloe Hayden - 2nd LW open rider status achieved Oso Silver Solomon - Kylie Jonkers - 4th MW 2nd novice Oso Zara - Gabriella Morgan Stapley- 5th MW 2nd novice Sadly Oso Ngaire and Tori VO lame at 80km but super sound this morning and a few more training KM under her belt! Huge thanks to the ride OC for Holding such a magnificent and professional ride which is fast becoming one of the best in the country!!! We really felt like we could be at a championships!! The track was fabulous the people super helpful and friendly we couldn’t have asked for more!!! As normal our team each and every person smashed the weekend and integral cog in the machine!! From strapping to cooking croissants and bacon in the early hours of the morning we couldn’t have done it without you all Crew Andrew Kettlewell Heath Rowbottom Steffi Anie Tacye Bice Briony Jonkers Arabella Ward Lindsey Wright Jack & Darcy (Hope I've not missed anyone!!) Heaps more to come after a good

13.01.2022 Next up on our week of Bullio ride reports is from our fabulous dressage rider/trainer Chloe Hayden who this year we tempted across to the dark side of endurance. Chloe is our lead rider for the performance show team but her balanced and sympathetic riding was always going to make her shine on the endurance track. She has this year completed all her novice rides and partnering with our power packed pony OSO DIAMOND DAZZLER ( KP Fernandez x AM Danae) who needed an 80km trainin...g ride Bullio was Chloe’s final novice ride. The combination took 2nd LW. I was lucky enough to be paired with Oso Diamond Dazzler who was a superstar from the moment we left the start line through to our final vetting. DD cruised around the whole track and took everything in her stride and for her I’m sure it felt like a training run. We had a super ride along side Amanda and Oso Engima. Thankyou for such a good ride and trusting me with DD to help guide me around my last ride in novice what a weekend!

12.01.2022 First story from our riders Shea Reynolds and Tamara Gibson! Relatively new to team Oso these two ladies took on their first 120km together on two of our geldings Oso En Garde and Oso Desperado who to were virgin to that distance. Both over came so much to complete a wonderful ride... a few words about their experience Tamara Riding Oso Desperado (Des) in the 120 was a bit of a personal challenge for me, he’s a horse that I’ve had my problems with when training, but I can h...onestly say he was a champion out on track. After getting a little overwhelmed at the start he settled in nicely and picked up a good pace for the rest of the ride. This was both of our first 120km ride so it was a thrill for us to finish together. Shea So proud of En Garde’s first attempt at 120k, he was feeling fresh at the start and I really had to make him concentrate to keep him in the right head space and conserve his energy. Felt fabulous for all four legs was starting to feel tired by the last leg in very wet and slippery conditions but he gave 150% the whole ride. Amazing team work!!! Both of this amazing horses are FOR SALE to the very best of homes.

06.01.2022 Last but very not least ( excluding Ben who doesn’t do interviews!!) is our wonderful Kylie Jonkers who rode our big baby boy OSO SILVER SOLOMON (KP Silver Excelsior x Kainui Park Soraya) maternal brother to our UK trained champion Spiralling Wind . Not only did Kylie have a super ride she also had to assist in managing the entire team of horses and riders in her bigget Oso team event. Covid year has made things very tricky for us all and Kylie has kept everyone enthused th...roughout the year! What can I say about this big gelding, but wow. For his 2nd 80km he was a champion from the start to the finish. This horse has just matured so much over the last few mth & has a huge career ahead off him. He was amazing out on track & handled his 1st experience of vet gate in to hold like a pro. Then made his 1st ever fittest horse work look like a peice off cake. Thank you to the whole OSO team for making this weekend so successful

03.01.2022 Well that’s a wrap as they say!! Mum and 2 kids all together at Oso now!!! Huge thanks to IRT ... Liz Archer... Anne brown and everyone else that has cared for Sunbeam... Solaris and Showman over the past 5 years... we are incredibly lucky to bring such amazing Crabbet genetics from the UK ... fingers crossed Sunbeam was bred to SDA Silver Legend last week a big ask from a mare who is in transition... but when the ovaries say yes we can’t miss an opportunity!!! Will sure to have more pics and film of this boy soon... xxx
