24.01.2022 Well I better up my game! Apparently I have the skillset to solve the worlds health problems - as graduate of 2 of the worlds top ranked universities University of Sydney (2nd) & La Trobe University (4th) ... Anyone have suggestions how I can help solve key global health or social issues better?

23.01.2022 Was a good memory right?

23.01.2022 you can still be pretty effective. About 80 percent of patient diagnosis is through conversation, asking how you’re feeling, how things have changed over time.

22.01.2022 Although it’s good The Straits Times did a article highlighting #telerehab for players sports injuries, it however has lots of incorrect information doing injustice to #digitalhealth & tele-rehab. I could not ignore this as a former Singapore Sport Institute, Team Singapore Singapore Slingers & Singapore National Olympic Council physiotherapist, and as someone whom has seen tele-rehab benefits first-hand over many years with my work with elite sports players injury diagnostic...s & rehab, and ensuring we we had the best players available for national selection. For that matter I first really noticed these benefits of remote & digital health solutions when with Pakistan Cricket Team in ensuring our best players were always healthy & available for selection, despite our geographical distances (when I was overseas on-tour) & limited medical capabilities in their domestic clubs - incase you didn’t know we won the ICC world title in 2017 1. The article suggests that its difficult to make accurate clinical diagnosis via tele-health & said 40% of patients diagnosis is by touch: firstly there is limited benefits from palpation, secondly the research suggests similar clinical diagnostic accuracy with Telehealth & patient self-exams, such as for lower limb injuries https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/20575726/, & for hip joint https://bmjopensem.bmj.com/content/5/1/e000574 2. Article also said ‘recovery may take a little longer for some., and it may be difficult to progress or manage post-surgical & acute injuries: however research shows BETTER outcomes & progress when rehab done via tele-rehab for lower limb https://lnkd.in/gB2jFnt & for post-surgical orthopaedics https://lnkd.in/gjEPDjJ There is abundance of validated simple or advanced tech solutions that can further improve these outcomes beyond what the research suggests too, from expansive wearable Inertial measurement units or sensors, force & strength portable measuring devices, through to cheap or free phone apps that measure joint ranges & forces from jumps. We have used a number of these with a range of our clients to progress their rehab to performance remotely! Want to know more? Feel free comment here, or message us or contact me on how to recover from your sports injuries at home or improve your teams diagnostics or remote #telehealth solutions. #sportsmedicine #sgunited #teamsg #telephysio #onlinephysio

19.01.2022 the early impact of the COVID-19 lockdown has revealed the injury rate in German soccer spiked by more than three times the usual number players will require good structured training and load managemt coming back to training or playing to avoid spikes in injuries

14.01.2022 Some positive direction for all in sports industry - the Australian framework for the full Resumption of Sport post #COVID19 has been approved by the national cabinet! A comprehensive scientific progressive pathway for a safer return to sport at elite & community levels set for across all sports & leagues, led by Australian Institute of Sport: There are Level A, B, C activities set as a minimum baseline of standards required for each sport to be met by high performance/profe...ssional sport before the resumption of training and competition. For medical services: Level A - All consultations undertaken via telehealth unless face to face is considered urgent. Avoid all routine and non-essential manual therapy. At level B the History taking, or full consultations should be conducted via telehealth if practical. It Face to face consults required then be conducted from at least 1.5m apart when possible, and hands on treatment should be for essential conditions only. A single source therapist, & wear a face mask. Sports example: Basketball: A - solo training starts with no indoor sports facility access allowed, B - Non-contact skills using basketball. In small groups with no more than 10 athletes/staff in total. C - full resumption. Cricket: A - solo training! B - Nets with batters facing bowlers (Limit bowlers per net). Fielding sessions. No warm up drills involving unnecessary person-person contact. No shining cricket ball with sweat/saliva during training. C - full training & games, with No shining cricket ball with sweat/saliva during training. https://www.pm.gov.au//attachb-ais-framework-rebooting-spo

07.01.2022 keep it fun, keep it fluid, keep it dynamic.. be like water

07.01.2022 A true Aussie sporting great & legend we sadly lost too early! Most Australians probably don’t know how much of an impact Dean Jones had as a coach. I know many young players such as Shadab Khan & Rumman Raees have much to thank for his guidance as Islamabad’s coach before they went on to play for Pakistan.

04.01.2022 "Believe nothing that you see in the newspapers. . .if you see anything in them that you know is true, begin to doubt it at once." Sir William Osler (Father of Modern Medicine)

03.01.2022 No amount of training at home can prepare your body for the demands of your sport, no weights, sprints in home etc.. will provide your body with all the loads required for you sport. Even the most prepared athletes will be facing increased risk coming out of lockdown ... It won’t be a easy few weeks, & months for sports teams! And expect it to be a even worse injury situation next year when the joint & bone structural loads accumulate from the congested schedules at the end of this year! The Bundesliga currently has 300% increase in injuries compared to usual, and I believe that injury injury rate will continue to rise much higher for them in the coming weeks. Expect a sudden rise in injuries about 4-6 weeks after return/resumption in each league around the world!

02.01.2022 After the NFL 2011 Lockdown, there was 10 Achilles Tendon ruptures in the first 12 days of training camp. As many sports set to resume could we see the same? Or are we more knowledgable and better prepared for coming out periods of 'unloading' in 2020? In ESPN Cricinfo article, ECB's Rob Ahmun, summarises well these issues facing international cricketers: "Ideally we would want anywhere between four to six weeks training, but it depends a bit on the format we go into...They c...an't go from nothing to bowling 40 overs in a two-week period - that's going to be a recipe for disaster. At the same time, you can't have a two-week build-up period between sprinting once or twice a week to playing in a T20I - the jump is too high." - https://www.espncricinfo.com//how-cricketers-keeping-fit-l Bundesliga has resumed, with 8 muscle injuries in their first 6 games, 5 injuries would be normal average (UEFA studies). So there doesn't appear signs of repeat of NFL 2011 yet, maybe sports capabilities (cloud systems) & understandings are better now? Although international cricket could face a bigger challenge to progress their bowling loads back up to Test match demands, especially for some nations only able to do training at home and without remote monitoring & load management capabilities (South Asia)? The outcomes after sports resumes will definitely show the good organisations in sports medicine and sports science, and expose the weaknesses in some.
