24.01.2022 Tomorrow is Remembrance Day commemorating the signing of the Armistice agreement between German and Allied forces on 11 November 1918 that signalled an end to World War I. The legacy of Remembrance Day has expanded to become a solemn reminder of the dedication, service and sacrifice of Australians who died or suffered in all wars and armed conflicts. All Australians are urged to donate to the annual Poppy Appeal fundraiser in memory of those who suffered. You can dedicate a poppy by making a donation at www.remembertoremember.com.au or www.poppyappeal.com.au

22.01.2022 Crowds were smaller for safety reasons but Remembrance Day ceremonies across Tasmania were as powerful as ever. RSL Tasmania

21.01.2022 For those who missed out on today's Remembrance Day service at the Hobart Cenotaph, here is a brief snippet of Musician Melanie Brown of the Australian Army Band Tasmania performing "We'll Meet Again" at the conclusion of today's service. #Wewillrememberthem #Lestweforget

20.01.2022 I was proud to represent Federal Leader of the Opposition Anthony Albanese at Hobart’s Remembrance Day Commemoration. On this day, at 11am, people from countrie...s across the world commemorate the Armistice signed to end the First World War. It is also a day to remember all members of armed forces who have died in the line of duty. I thank the RSL Tasmania for organising today’s service. It is vital that we mark these occasions to remind us of the terrible cost of war, so that we may understand that the decision to enter conflict is one that must be made with the utmost gravity. Lest we forget.

13.01.2022 A Commemorative Service was conducted by RSL Tasmania this morning at the Hobart Cenotaph. Unlike other years, due to the COVID-19 restrictions in place, unfortunately we could not advertise the Service as a public event. However, we are grateful to those veterans, their families and other members of the public who still attended to pay their respects and remember. Placing of wreaths was led by Her Excellency, Professor, the Hon Kate Warner AC, Governor of Tasmania, fo...llowed by Federal Government representatives, The Hon Peter Gutwein MP, Premier of Tasmania, and other Tasmanian Government representatives. Wreaths were also placed by representatives of the Defence Force, Tasmania Police and 12 Ex Service Organizations. The Service concluded with a rendition of the famous Vera Lynn song "We'll Meet Again" sung by Musician Melanie Brown, accompanied by the Australian Army Band - Tasmania. RSL Tasmania acknowledges and is grateful for the support of all involved in today's Service. See more

12.01.2022 In honour of those brave service men and women who serve, plant your poppy online at www.poppyappeal.com.au. #remembertoremember

11.01.2022 We invite veterans and their families in Tasmania to have their say on potential wellbeing support services for the Tasmanian veteran community. The University ...of Tasmania has begun its consultation process for the feasibility study and there are a few different ways you can join in! You can complete an online survey, register for a workshop or register for Zoom small group interviews. If you are in Tasmania and would like to have your say, please visit: https://www.utas.edu.au//projec/projects/feasibility-study

03.01.2022 Due to current COVID restrictions, we were unable to stage our commemorative Remembrance Day service as a public event. However, we ask you Remember to Remember by joining in online - you can follow your own service here, and please take a minute at 11am to pause, reflect and remember the service and sacrifice of Australians who died or suffered in all wars and armed conflicts.
