24.01.2022 Extensive water bombing continues to be used on the K’gari (Fraser Island) fire with more than 1 million litres of water and gel dropped since Saturday (28/11). Aerial operations have been effective to date in slowing the spread of the fire, but conditions remain challenging and can change rapidly. A massive effort from our aerial teams, being supported by ground crews.

12.01.2022 Mount Jukes (north of Mackay) bushfire as at 6.20pm Mon 30 Nov Queensland Fire and Emergency Services (QFES) crews are monitoring a bushfire burning in inaccessible land to the south of Gormleys Road and west of Yakapari Seaforth Road, Mount Jukes. Firefighters have contained the blaze. The fire is posing no threat to property at this time. Nearby residents may be affected by smoke overnight. Residents are asked to close windows and doors and if suffering from a respiratory condition, keep medications close by. Motorists should drive with caution and to conditions. If residents are concerned their property is under threat they are advised to call Triple Zero (000) immediately.

This fire is posing no threat to property at this time. Nearby residents may be affected by smoke. 02.01.2022 LOCAL FIRE BAN EXTENDED SOUTH EASTERN REGION Due to heightened fire conditions, a local fire ban has been extended for the following local government areas: Logan Scenic Rim... Ipswich Lockyer Valley Somerset Gold Coast The ban will remain in place until 11.59pm Monday (7/12). Under a local fire ban, all open fires are prohibited (subject to exemptions) and all Permits to Light Fire which have been issued in the designated areas have been cancelled.
