22.01.2022 TeenFIT This is way more than just an exercise class! Too many people associate exercise with just trying to be skinny and lose weight! For too long now, Exercise has been painted with a negative brush! Its thought of as a boring chore! A punishment for eating! Too time consuming! Too hard! I’m going to change that. My aim is to educate these teens all about the importance of strength training, cardiovascular training and good nutrition and the long term health benefits a...ssociated with these. I’m going to teach them that exercise is actually enjoyable if you approach it in a positive light. That exercise isn’t just about burning energy. Its far more important than that. It’s about moving well and building strength and endurance and maintaining mobility. It’s about keeping your bones, joints and ligaments strong and healthy. We will learn that eating well is a form of self respect. That fuelling your body right gives you energy and makes you feel good. I have 10 years of training experience now and am also currently studying nutrition to become a Nutritionist/ Sports Nutrition Advisor. This lifestyle is my absolute passion. I love sharing it with other people. Over the course of the program we will cover all of the fundamental movements. Focusing on technique and executing the movements correctly. Each session we will learn new movements and the importance of why we should be doing these movements. Each week we will work on increasing fitness and strength. There will be informative handouts each week and homework! It is also aimed to improve their mood, self-confidence, self-esteem, resilience and mindset. Helping teens to become internally motivated to live healthier lifestyles, aspiring to constantly improve their fitness and athleticism. I’m so excited for this!

16.01.2022 Weight loss FAT LOSS Fat loss may not necessarily make you happier, but it WILL make you physically healthier. FACT. People who are overweight or obese , compared to those with a normal or healthy body fat percentage , are at increased risk of developing many serious diseases and health conditions, including the following: ... * Cardiovascular Disease (#1 killer worldwide) * Increased risk of cancer * Type 2 diabetes * Coronary heart disease * Stroke * Gallbladder disease * Osteoarthritis * Fertility problems * Chronic inflammation * Sleep apnea and breathing problems * Body pain and difficulty with completing daily tasks. I am all for self love and body confidence no matter what your body shape or size is. And I totally agree 100% that the number on the scales or what you eat does not define whether you are a good or bad person. Food has no moral value. However, What I do think is, that it IS INCREDIBLY important not to push aside or ignore the scientifically proven health benefits associated with exercise and healthy eating and maintaining a healthy body fat percentage. The link between the two is far too important to ignore. You don’t have to make drastic changes! You don’t have to overtrain! You don’t have to starve yourself! You don’t need fad diets! You don’t need fad exercise plans. You just need to start with simple sustainable steps:- Are you getting enough sleep Start to move more start weight training to build muscle Reduce the quantity of processed foods that you are consuming. Eat more protein Eat more vegetables Drink lots of water If you need some help, I can help you. It’s never too late to start looking after yourself. Have a great weekend
15.01.2022 Lifting the same weights for the same exercises every week will keep your body in the same place. You won’t continue to see change if you don’t continue to challenge your muscles. Our bones, muscles, tendons, heart, and lungs, will adapt to the stress exposed to it. This means if you undertake exercise that's physically challenging, your body will adapt to this stress to ensure the same activity feels slightly easier in the future. ... It’s extremely important to focus on Nutrition too! It goes without saying that you need nutrition to support your training and that means getting enough calories and protein. You can’t skimp on nutrition and expect your muscles to continue to grow and become stronger. Amino acids from protein are the building blocks of muscle tissue and you need carbohydrates to replenish muscle glycogen stores. If you eat like rubbish you’ll feel like rubbish. See you all in the Gym this afternoon !
14.01.2022 It can be hard to know where to start when beginning strength training. There are countless exercises you can do to work a range of different muscles. There are safety concerns to be aware of and a wide variety of potentially confusing equipment to figure out. That’s where this program comes in. Just one night a week commitment is required. During the 8 weeks we will cover the benefits of strength training, the fundamental movements, the importance of mobility and how it affects your range of motion and also look at technique and the correct positions required to safely perform strength training. Small group only. 10 spots available. Contact me if you are interested
13.01.2022 Happy Friday Christmas Party time ! Let’s celebrate another year of training. I hope to see you all there
13.01.2022 Exercise IS FOR EVERYONE! No matter what your age or fitness level is. We should all be moving daily! Every single exercise can be scaled/ modified to suit the individual. Do you know what fitness rule number 2 is ??? Never go 2 days in a row without training ! Don’t forget it Friday tomorrow ! See you all
13.01.2022 Never has a truer word been spoken! Fact- People don’t like to be reminded of the hard work they aren’t doing. However I think that as part of my job description it’s up to me to continually remind people of what they need to be doing to improve their health or offer advice and tips. Even if I can only help convince one extra person a week to start exercising and eating well, I’ll be happy. Obsessed, extreme, crazy, insane, boring, are a few of the words that have been used... to describe me when it comes to my love of exercise and healthy eating. I’m ok with that. My health is very important to me. I have a busy life, I need to feel my best. I want grow old! I want to live to see my children grow up. I want to be the best role model for them that I possibly can be. The world nowadays is so incredibly processed/ toxic that if you aren’t deliberately trying to be as healthy as possible it’s going to catch up to you really fast. The need to move daily is becoming less and less. Basically everything can be done online. Not so long ago people had to grow/collect every meal. Now we can order it online and have it delivered to our door. We can even do our weekly grocery shop and have someone else do it and we just click and collect. Too often is medicine used to mask health problems that are exercise and nutrition related. If everyone took their health to the extreme we would be a much better world and there would be less burden on our healthcare systems. If you are looking for a sign to exercise today - THIS IS IT Happy Wednesday
08.01.2022 How time flies when you’re having fun! It was too hard to pick one winner when there were two so equally deserving ! I wanted both to be recognised for their hard work. I’m sure both will be happy to share the prize with the other. $250 each. ... Deb & Amy! Both have been incredibly committed and have tried so hard. It’s so amazing to watch someone’s strength & cardiovascular fitness improve. When someone’s 1rm becomes their new 10rm you know they are doing something right! Both these girls are flat out! Deb running a full time busy business & 3 small children and Amy working full time, studying & 3 children. Yet they still never miss a day. Their secret to being so productive every single day is simple ! They are FIT, STRONG & HEALTHY! Well done girls
08.01.2022 Happy Friday Sunday I will announce the winner of the 70 Day Fitness Challenge! That person will win back their entire 10 weeks of gym fees !... See more
04.01.2022 8 Week Beginners Strength Training Progam. Every week we cover some new movements plus work on the ones from the prior weeks. You guys were seriously impressive this afternoon ! I can’t wait for next Monday! 3 more weeks to go
03.01.2022 Fact ~ A good quality squat will always beat a heavy squat with poor technique. Every movement comes with a movement standard. This is a full range of motion back squat (this week we have tempo squats ~ 3 second pause in the bottom position to add variation & progressive overload to challenge the body). This is what it should look like. This is the movement. Injury occurs when you add too much weight to the barbell and you compromise your movement standard and your squat no ...longer looks like this. If you can’t perform a squat that meets the movement standard then there is lots we can work on to improve your mobility so you to can master the squat! mobility refers to the ability of a joint to move through its full range of motion without restriction or discomfort. In order to maintain healthy joints, they must go through their full range of motion on a daily basis. Great Squat Deb
02.01.2022 Did you know that we do Gift Certificates ! The gift of health! Now that’s showing how much you care
02.01.2022 Teen FIT ~ 3:30pm today and Thursday ! (Officially starts next week. I still have a couple of places available. The idea behind Teen FIT In this day and age especially with social media and so much emphasis on someone’s physical appearance I think it’s incredibly important for teenage girls (when they are most impressionable) to learn that their physical health is incredibly more important than their physical appearance. The message has to get out there that It’...s far more important to better yourself from the inside out ! HEALTH first, always. Teen FIT, a class designed for teenage girls to increase fitness and strength. It is also aimed to improve their mood, self-confidence, self-esteem, resilience and mindset. Helping teens to become internally motivated to live healthier lifestyles, aspiring to constantly improve their fitness and athleticism. Each session will run for approx 45 minute and will incorporate functional movements, body weight and weighted movements using equipment, and mobility to build stronger, fitter bodies with improved mobility and flexibility. As with any class, the priority is always to teach good mechanics and to move with great technique. Progressing intensity (including by increasing load) will always be done in a considered and supervised manner keeping Teens safe and free of injury.
