25.01.2022 Our club will begin the new season on Saturday 5th September. There won't be any bells or whistles, just a normal Saturday and extra effort made for afternoon tea. Since it will still be footy season , members can wear something in the colours of their favorite team. Let the games begin!

23.01.2022 Congratulations to Nannette Fry who has been awarded a much deserved life membership at Drouin Croquet Club.

22.01.2022 The lawns aren't crowded yet.

18.01.2022 The Earl of Essex was famous for lavish croquet parties in the 1860s. But as many other popular amusements, croquet also came under moral suspicion. In 1898, *Living Age *magazine described the game as a "source of slumbering depravity, a veritable Frankenstein monster of recreation." The author suggested that "it would be well if the enthusiasm of the clergy and laity were enlisted for suppressing the immoral practice of croquet." Thanks Jenny Clarke. Yes, you've got to watch these croquet players or they will lead you astray lol

17.01.2022 After deferral due to COVID restrictions, our AGM finally got underway. Our President is Ruth Cashin and Secretary is Joan Hopkins. The annual trophies were awarded. Club Champion was Joan Hopkins. The Barb Waterland trophy for the Saturday Hoops competition was won by Joan Hopkins. There's no stopping that lady! We also held a hat day to help with the ambience. Some people forgot to bring their hat but 5 people showed off their creations. The winner was the jaunty, red hat worn by Chris O'Neill; who won a box of Malteasers for her effort. I'm not sure about Ruth's hat - she was sporting her version of a corona virus.

11.01.2022 Couldn't resist sharing this little gem.

10.01.2022 Due to stage 3 restrictions being implemented once again, we've got a croquet drought for the next 6 weeks or so. Please be patient....The situation must improve sometime!

09.01.2022 Who would have guessed? We are cancelling our November Doubles Tournament due to the uncertainty associated with the COVID-19 pandemic. We hope to see you all in 2021!

06.01.2022 2020 is our lucky year Not only a pandemic to contend with.....the hot water service died, the wall urn in the kitchen died, and this week we were alerted to a water leak (apparently under the shed) which will require diversion. And it's only the beginning of July! Can't wait to see what the next 5 months brings .

04.01.2022 Someone stopped walking too soon I think. But....the hand sanitizer was close by & the sun was shining for our first foray into our favourite sport.

03.01.2022 Some good news...we were successful in our application for the $1000 corona virus grant
