19.01.2022 IDN21033 Australian Government Bureau of Meteorology TOP PRIORITY FOR IMMEDIATE BROADCAST Severe Thunderstorm Warning... for DAMAGING WINDS and LARGE HAILSTONES For people in parts of Mid North Coast, Hunter, North West Slopes and Plains and Northern Tablelands Forecast Districts. Issued at 7:51 pm Friday, 13 November 2020. Severe thunderstorms are likely to produce damaging winds and large hailstones in the warning area over the next several hours. Locations which may be affected include Scone, Glen Innes, Jackadgery, Nowendoc, Gloucester, Barrington Tops, Muswellbrook, Murrurundi and Quirindi. The State Emergency Service advises that people should: * Move your car under cover or away from trees. * Secure or put away loose items around your house, yard and balcony. * Keep at least 8 metres away from fallen power lines or objects that may be energised, such as fences. * Report fallen power lines to either Ausgrid (131 388), Endeavour Energy (131 003), Essential Energy (132 080) or Evoenergy (131 093) as shown on your power bill. * Trees that have been damaged by fire are likely to be more unstable and more likely to fall. * Unplug computers and appliances. * Avoid using the phone during the storm. * Stay indoors away from windows, and keep children and pets indoors as well. * Stay vigilant and monitor conditions. 19.01.2022 IDN21033 Australian Government Bureau of Meteorology TOP PRIORITY FOR IMMEDIATE BROADCAST Severe Thunderstorm Warning... for DAMAGING WINDS, LARGE HAILSTONES and HEAVY RAINFALL For people in Mid North Coast, Central Tablelands, South West Slopes, Riverina, Northern Tablelands and parts of Hunter, Southern Tablelands, North West Slopes and Plains, Central West Slopes and Plains, Lower Western, Snowy Mountains and Australian Capital Territory Forecast Districts. Issued at 5:37 pm Friday, 30 October 2020. SEVERE STORMS OVER THE CENTRAL INLAND A trough of low pressure is combining with an upper-level disturbance to generate unsettled condition across much of NSW. Severe thunderstorms are likely to produce damaging winds, large hailstones and heavy rainfall that may lead to flash flooding in the warning area over the next several hours. Locations which may be affected include Port Macquarie, Armidale, Orange, Cooma, Tamworth, Gunnedah, Parkes, Wagga Wagga, Albury, Deniliquin, Griffith and Hay. 14.2mm of rainfall recorded at Goonumbla in the 15 minutes to 3:35pm. 42mm of rainfall recorded at Tumbarumba in the 1 hour to 4:15pm. Severe Weather Warning for DAMAGING WINDS For people in parts of Mid North Coast, Hunter and Metropolitan Forecast Districts. Issued at 12:07 pm Thursday, 5 November 2020. STRONG AND GUSTY SOUTHERLY WINDS ALONG THE COAST. Weather Situation: A surge of strong southerly winds are forecast to build on Thursday as a low pressure system deepens off the NSW coastline. This low is forecast to quickly move into the Tasman Sea with conditions easing by Friday. DAMAGING WINDS, averaging 60 to 70 km/h with peak gusts in excess of 90 km/h are possible about parts of the coastline from late Thursday afternoon. Winds are expected to ease below warning thresholds early Friday morning as the low pressure system moves further offshore. Locations which may be affected include Newcastle, Sydney, Forster, Seal Rocks, Bulahdelah, Wallsend, Toronto, Wyong, The Entrance and Woy Woy. Severe thunderstorms are likely to produce large hailstones, damaging winds and heavy rainfall that may lead to flash flooding in the warning area over the next several hours. Locations which may be affected include Grafton, Coffs Harbour, Port Macquarie, Taree, Orange, Yass, Parkes, Wagga Wagga, Albury, Deniliquin, Griffith and Hay.
