16.01.2022 The Giant Triton is a beautiful shell and a well known predator of the Crown-of-Thorns Starfish. The Giant Triton is collected for the shell trade and this trade needs monitoring to allow protection of this important species. This is best achieved by listing the Giant Triton in Appendix 2 of the CITES (Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species) Treaty.
