18.01.2022 Dear parent/caregiver, The Premier today announced that schools and preschools will reopen to all students on Monday 23 November. As a result, Darlington Primary School will be open and operating as normal.... We will not be offering an alternative home-based learning program. OSHC will operate as usual. As the Chief Public Health Officer said, just because the hard lockdown is being lifted does not mean that the risks associated with COVID-19 have passed. As a result we will minimise the number of people coming and going from our site. Wherever possible, please drop and collect your child at the gate and maintain the appropriate physical distance from other adults. More information on excursions, events and sporting activities, and use of masks will be available soon. Thank you very much for your support over the last couple of days. We look forward to having your child back at Darlington Primary School on Monday. Regards, Claire Claire Loades

18.01.2022 A strong foundation in learning to read is so important for our kids’ success in schooling, and in life. Phonics - the ability to ‘decode’ our words - is an imp...ortant part of this process. In the two years since we introduced the year 1 phonics screening check, a key Marshall Liberal Government election commitment, we’ve seen dramatic improvements in how well we’re teaching our kids to read. There’s still more to do, but this 20% lift from when we introduced the check to all Department for Education, South Australia schools is a massive step forward. Well done to our teachers! #WorldClassEducation

13.01.2022 - : ASMS impacted by Flinders Uni Sturt Campus health advice. Staff and students at the Australian Science & Mathematics School (ASMS) are to work/...study from home on Monday 30 November. This is to allow anyone who visited the nearby Sturt Campus of Flinders University at any time from 13 November to 28 November to isolate and seek a COVID-19 test in line with SA Health requirements. There is no indication that any member of ASMS has COVID-19 or is a close contact of a confirmed case. Because of this ASMS does not need to close for deep cleaning at this time. However, due to the use of the Pantry and Café on Sturt Campus it is expected that many staff will be getting tested and isolating awaiting the result. Therefore the school will not open as normal tomorrow Monday 30 November. Students can contact teachers online if they need support. The school community has been informed.

12.01.2022 Students were full of enthusiasm when Scouts SA came to the school. They provided workshops focussed on teamwork, leadership and resilience skills. The students had lots of fun and engagement in the workshops. Here are some snapshots of students putting their skills in a variety of challenges, activities and games.

06.01.2022 Music education has a huge impact on many of our schools and preschools. As one example, Ngura Yadurirn Children and Family Centre uses music to reinforce con...nections between family, community heritage and learning. Children are introduced to music in creative ways that engage all the senses, and songs are taught to families so children are encouraged to take the music home. Music education is important to us, our students, our schools and preschools, which is why we've developed the South Australian Quality Music Education Framework. Head here to read about the framework and how it impacts your child: www.education.sa.gov.au//music-education-strategy-2019-2029

05.01.2022 Please remember to keep your child home if they have a cold or flu like symptoms. Please have a COVID test done.
