24.01.2022 Update regarding the 1812 Theatre’s response to COVID-19 Due to the recent escalation in government restrictions on indoor gatherings the 1812 Theatre is suspending all performances until further notice. Unfortunately this disruption to normal operations will prevent us proceeding with performances of our Season 2 Play War of The Worlds and Season 3 And Then There Were None as originally scheduled. We will however continue to monitor the situation with the intention to re...scheduling these shows at a later time once the situation improves. We will advise ticket holders of rescheduled dates for the above shows at a future time once confirmed. However, if you would prefer a refund, please contact the office 9758-3964 or [email protected]. We apologise for the inconvenience caused, although we would like to assure our patrons that the health and safety of all who enter our theatre is always our highest priority and we thank you for your understanding.

24.01.2022 Update regarding the 1812 Theatre’s response to COVID-19 It is encouraging to see Victoria taking steps to emerge from the Covid-19 lockdown, and we are all hoping life can return to something approaching normal in the near future. However, the current restrictions and uncertain timing around future easing, means it is not yet clear when theatre performances will be able to recommence in a safe and economically viable form. Unfortunately as a result we are unable to commence... the necessary preparation activities (rehearsals, set construction, etc.) associated with our upcoming Season 4 play A Flea in Her Ear or season 5 Let The Right One In so will be unable to proceed with these shows as originally scheduled. These postponements are in addition to the postponement of our Season 2 Play War of The Worlds and Season 3 And Then There Were None as previously advised. We will however continue to monitor the situation with the intention to rescheduling all these shows at a later time once the situation improves. We will advise current ticket holders of rescheduled dates for these shows at a future time once confirmed. However, if you would prefer a refund, please contact the office 9758-3964 or [email protected]. We apologise for the inconvenience caused, although we would like to assure our patrons that the health and safety of all who enter our theatre is always our highest priority and we thank you for your understanding. 24.01.2022 Update regarding the 1812 Theatre’s response to COVID-19 (July 2020) Due to the escalation in Covid-19 restrictions currently being experienced in Melbourne we are unable to commence the necessary preparation activities (rehearsals, set construction, etc.) associated with the remainder of our scheduled 2020 season, and thus we are advising the postponement of all remaining 2020 events, including our Season 6 play The Shoe-Horn Sonata & Season 7 Dracula The Bloody Truth.... The restrictions necessary to combat Covid-19 are currently quite dynamic and the uncertain timing around future easing means it is not yet clear when theatre performances will be able to recommence in a safe and economically viable form. However, where possible it is our intention to reschedule shows that were unable to be performed this year to a similar time next year. Obviously, it is impossible for us to confirm dates, etc. at this time, but we wanted to share with you our current plan. We will advise current ticket holders of rescheduled show dates at a future time once confirmed. However, if you would prefer a refund, please contact the office 9758-3964 or [email protected]. In addition, we will continue to monitor the situation, and should the situation improve and restrictions ease quicker than expected we will explore the possibility of staging a production later this year and advise you accordingly. We apologise for the inconvenience caused, although we would like to assure our patrons that the health and safety of all who enter our theatre is always our highest priority. Since the suspensions of normal theatre operations we have been developing our Covid-19 operational plan; including increased deep cleaning requirements, changes to theatre process’s and procedures to support social distancing and the elimination of shared items, etc. to ensure when we are able to welcome you to the theatre again you can be confident we are prepared for these challenges and your safety is paramount. Thank you for your understanding.

14.01.2022 Happy Friday everyone - stay safe out there

14.01.2022 2020 has been a difficult year for everyone; with covid-19 having a devastating impact on millions of lives and livelihood’s around the globe. The impact on the entertainment industry in particular has been unprecedented, necessitating the closure of theatres and the cancellation of all performances. Normally around this time of the year we would be releasing our program of events for the coming year. However, due to the current restrictions on indoor events and the uncertain...ty around when they will be lifted, and what future operating requirements will be, it is currently not possible for us to lock-in a program for 2021. As you are no doubt aware, incidents of Covid-19 in Victoria are now at very low levels, and as a result restrictions have begun to be lifted. This is indeed a very encouraging sign, and we will continue to monitor the evolving government guidelines and their impact on our ability and viability to re-open. 2021 will hopefully bring a return to live performance, but exactly what this will look like is still to be determined, although we are hopeful that this will become evident shortly. Again we would like to assure our patrons that the health and safety of all who enter our theatre is always our highest priority. Since the suspensions of normal theatre operations we have developed our Covid-19 operational plan; including deep cleaning requirements, changes to theatre process’s and procedures to support social distancing and the elimination of shared items, etc. to ensure when we are able to welcome you to the theatre again you can be confident we are prepared for these challenges and your safety is paramount. Thank you for your understanding, and we look forward to welcoming you back to the 1812 Theatre very soon.

12.01.2022 Wishing you and your family a Merry Christmas and a Happy & Safe New Year. We look forward to seeing you all in 2021.

Wells, had many terrified listeners convinced that an actual alien invasion of Earth was taking place.
