23.01.2022 They're back!! True to our word, we said as soon as the temperature cools a bit we'd bring back our Beef & Guinness Pies. It might be a cliche but they really are made to an old family recipe. Come and get 'em TOMORROW!

21.01.2022 The ladies and gentlemen from the Nambour Tennis Club enjoying coffee & cake in our courtyard the week before the deluge. It was 34 degrees on the day so we take our hats off to you folks!!

19.01.2022 HELLO MARCOOLA! 1870 Baking Company will be at the Marcoola Market every Saturday from this weekend. Some of you may know us from Fishermans Road Market and the old Hinterland market and we'll be bringing our usual fare of sourdough breads, almond croissants, danish pastries and savouries. Looking forward to meeting lots of new faces this week!

19.01.2022 It's the weekend - so relax. Chill out with a coffee and a slice of one of our cake specials today. Our "Man Cake" is a chocolate almond torte with whisky soaked prunes. And when I say whisky, we're talking Johnny Wakler Red for 24 hours! Or you could choose our Sour Cream Cherry Cake - always one of our most popular.

17.01.2022 There's a definite theme running through our Saturday specials this week. RUM & CHILLI BEEF PIES are back - a bit of heat tempered by the sweetness of Bundy Rum. The Caribbean meets Queensland! And in the dessert sector our AFTER DARK LAMMIES have a grown up shot of MALIBU added to their chocolate coating. It's a rum kinda thing. See you tomorrow at 1870!

12.01.2022 A heads up ( pun intended ) re this weekends beer bread. We'll be using the mash from Sunshine Brewery's Jaffa Stout. The dark chocolately, malty and orange flavours should transfer to a wicked loaf! We expect this to sell out fast - so order yours before Friday! Tasting notes attached.

And a special thank you to Dan Park who gave us both the chillies and the inspiration to create "The Reaper". In a fortnight, our Saturday morning special pie will see the return of our Rum & Chilli Beef. A nice, medium heat to suit most tastes. THIS SATURDAY'S special will be PRAWN & CHORIZO - no heat involved. We'll let your taste buds heal!
