For people in Ipswich and parts of Scenic Rim, Lockyer Valley and Brisbane City Council Areas. Issued at 6:48 pm Friday, 13 November 2020. The Bureau of Meteorology warns that, at 6:40 pm, very dangerous thunderstorms were detected on the weather radar near the area northwest of Cunninghams Gap. These thunderstorms are moving towards the northeast. Very dangerous thunderstorms are forecast to affect Rosevale, Mulgowie and Grandchester by 7:10 pm and Ipswich, Rosewood and Marburg by 7:40 pm. Damaging, locally destructive winds and large, possibly giant hailstones are likely. Queensland Fire and Emergency Services advises that people should: * Move your car under cover or away from trees. * Secure loose outdoor items. * Seek shelter, preferably indoors and never under trees. * Avoid using the telephone during a thunderstorm. * Beware of fallen trees and powerlines. * For emergency assistance contact the SES on 132 500.
