14.01.2022 Going out in the boat this weekend? Just a friendly reminder that Marine Flares cannot be disposed of in any of your household bins. They pose a serious risk to our collection drivers and processing staff if they were to ignite whilst being collected. The Central Coast events are on: Friday 27th November - Norah Head Boat Ramp 7.30am - 9am or Gosford Boat Ramp 1pm - 2.30pm; Friday 15th January - Norah Head Boat Ramp 7.30am - 9am or Gosford Boat Ramp 1pm - 2.30pm; Friday 16th April - Norah Head Boat Ramp 7.30am - 9am or Gosford Boat Ramp 2.30pm - 4.30pm. 04.01.2022 Just a friendly reminder that tissues, paper towels, wipes, gloves and face masks cannot be recycled in your Yellow Lid Recycle Bin All of this waste should be bagged and disposed of in your Red Lid General Waste Bin. Paper towels, napkins, and tissues are all paper products; however they are never recyclable. Because they usually come in contact with food wastes and possibly bodily fluids, they are not able to be cleaned during the recycling ...process and should not be with other clean paper waste like magazines and paper. Always throw these items into the Red Lid Bin. COVID Safe Waste Disposal Procedures Any individuals asked to self-isolate, either as a precaution or because they are confirmed to have Coronavirus (COVID-19), should observe the following advice to dispose of their household waste to ensure the virus is not spread via personal waste: Individuals should place all personal waste such as used tissues, gloves, paper towels, wipes, and masks securely in a plastic bag or bin liner; Bag should be filled no fuller than 80% so that it can be tied securely without spillage; This plastic bag should then be placed in another plastic bag and securely tied; These bags must be disposed of in your red lidded garbage bin. 04.01.2022 Putting the wrong stuff in your recycling bin really stinks! We know that some of you have larger families, bigger lawns and some of you may indulge a little more as well. This can mean that the standard bin system that Council provides may not work for you. If you are finding your current bin service is not providing you enough disposal space and your bins are overflowing, the first step is to see if you can reduce and recycle more of your waste to help with this.... Check out our website as a starting point with this: https://1coast.com.au/other-waste-and-/reducing-your-waste/ If you are recycling everything, reducing your waste and your bins are still overflowing, you should look into upgrading your bin service. Central Coast Council offers residents the choice of a 140 litre, 240 litre or 360 litre red lid general waste bin as well as a 240 litre or 360 litre yellow lid recycle bin as part of your residential waste service. You can also get additional quantities of any of the bins, so you green thumbs can have 2 or more green lid garden bins if needed! Only property owners can request an upgrade or additional bins. If you rent the premises, you will need to contact the managing agent or the owner to discuss these changes. Please note that larger and additional bins do cost more on the rates for your property.
