Recently, the CO, RSM and our 1 CSST members joined Playford International College to sign a Memorandum of Understanding - solidifying the relationship built in 2019 and outlining the support and activities Army offers as part of community engagement and student work experience that will occur in 2020. 1 CSST will host work experience placements, team and relationship-building activities with students to foster understanding of Defen...ce career opportunities. 24.01.2022 Meet #OurPeople || 1st Combat Service Support Battalion - Australian Army soldier Corporal Levi Winman has led the charge in a 1,200km bike ride in the Northern... Territory. Raising awareness and funds in support of the Cancer Council NT Corporal Winman and his team of 10 began training in February to physically and mentally condition themselves for the endurance ride. Corporal Winman says he is confident that the pack will feel the burn during the journey, but also a sense of accomplishment as they ride into Roberson Barracks on 28 July after an eight-day ride. 23.01.2022 #OurPeople commence training with our partners at Charles Darwin University and Spee3D on the use of Additive Manufacturing! Members from 1 CSSB and 5th Battalion, Royal Australian Regiment attend weekly classes at CDU to learn how to use this new technology to create an agile supply chain. During this phase of training members are learning the theory and process of developing designs for printing. Over an 8 day period this July, 1 CSSB members will cycle 1,200km around the Top End stretching their mental and physical limits while raising awareness and funds in support of the Cancer Council NT Since February this year, members have been training hard under the leadership and initiative of CPL Levi Winman. ... 21.01.2022 1 CSST working with Air Force to put in place the P-3C Orion as the new Edinburgh Defence Precinct gate guard. Last week #OurPeople assisted the RAAF in moving the retired 23 tonne P-3C Orion from the flight line, to its final resting location at the front of Edinburgh Defence Precinct. SGT Adam Duniam and CFN Trevor Staader used the M806AS4 Armoured Recovery Vehicle Light (ARVL) to delicately move the 30m wide and 35m long aircraft 4km through the base. They navigated num...erous obstacles such as building works and soft ground and had RAAF security parties opening fences, removing light poles and filling ditches across the base to allow the load to pass. The two day task was successful due to the careful planning and integration of 1 CSST and RAAF force elements. Well done guys! 1st Brigade - Australian Army

19.01.2022 28 Jan 2020 marks the first day back from Christmas break for the majority of 1 CSSB personnel. The CO outlined the year ahead and welcomed #OurPeople back from a well-deserved break. The unit had the opportunity to congratulate CPL Lowe, who was awarded the Australia Day Medal for his outstanding efforts as the Bde heavy recovery mechanic in 2019. ... 1 CSSB remains ready with members currently supporting operations abroad and locally. 1st Brigade - Australian Army

18.01.2022 For our members and their families that are currently seeking information on Defence's response to National COVID-19 containment. The current situation across both South Australia and the Northern Territory remains fluid, and our State and Territory authorities are working hard to implement safe measures to protect our communities and reduce the spread of COVID-19. 1 CSSB is working in support of these authorities now to assist where we can with logistical and administrative support. Please follow the below link for the latest information on this evolving situation. Our team in 1 CSSB will seek to provide additional information in the coming days that better informs our members on unit-level measures to support and manage the welfare and safety of our people in the coming weeks.

The team are honoured to be selected. Special thanks to The Hon Michael Gunner MLA, Minister for Strategic Defence Relations and the Hon Nicole Manison : Member for Wanguri MLA, Minister for Defence Industries for the support that has helped SPEE3D thrive in the NT. The Awards were in part recognition of the world first work SPEE3D has been doing with the Australian Defence Forces. Complementing the professional development training, our Corporals were given the oppertunity to #WorkasaTeam and build strong bonds, through demanding physical resilience activities, a historical memorial walk through Alice Springs to reflect on the theatres of conflict ...our predecessors have served in and a dinner under the stars to celebrate the completion of the activity. 10.01.2022 #OurPeople are modernising Army to become #FutureReady, through the introduction of a deployable Additive Manufacturing capability! In partnership with Spee3D and Charles Darwin University, members of 1 CSSB are trialling the use of 3D printers in workshops. In an Army first, 3D printers will be used to design and print repair parts, allowing responsive and flexible logistic support to our deployed forces. The printers also allow our people to conduct rapid prototyping and ob...solescence management. For the next six months the workshops will develop programs and processes to use the printers; a digital library to use as a repository for future ADF designs, as well as trialling their use in a field environment. Aiming to build a future Concept for the Employment of Additive Manufacturing across Army, we will partner with 5th Battalion, Royal Australian Regiment Army Logistic Training Centre, 17th Sustainment Brigade - Australian Armyand Joint Logistics Command stakeholders to explore all fundamental inputs to to this exciting new capability. 08.01.2022 1 CSSB are supporting #OurCommunity. Heroes on the Homefront (HOTH) is a South Australian based veterans services charity specialising in connecting veterans to a variety of programs to support service personnel and first responders. Recently, 1 CSST WKSP hosted the SA region's RAEME birthday celebrations. The event was based heavily on gold coin donation and raffle prizes IOT give back to this local charity.... CAPT Caluya, LT Rogers and CFN Beoutis were thrilled to present Luke Adamson, founder of HOTH, with a cheque totalling $1900 collected from proceeds of the event. 06.01.2022 Day one of the CO and RSM's Junior Leader Training: Following exposure to ethical and moral scenarios testing leadership beyond failure, #OurPeople partnered with North West Mobile Force - NORFORCE to test and develop their #Resilience Covering topics from survival under extreme conditions, shelter construction, water and food capture and celestial navigation, our Junior Leaders bonded as a team and further refined their leadership skills. The training is designed to better ...equip them to lead our soldiers through 2020 and remain #ReadyNow.
