Being the new student can make anyone feel nervous or awkward, but there are a couple of things you can do to make the exper...ience better: Remember that it takes time to get used to change and that it probably won’t be amazing straightaway. Keep on doing the things you enjoy, such as playing music, sport or writing, and if there’s a club for it - join it. Talk to anyone that looks friendly. Meeting new people can be hard but it’s worth it. Keep in touch with friends at your old school online and in-person. Reach out to someone if the changes are getting to you, such as a friend, family member, counsellor or doctor. See more

14.01.2022 Dont forget R U OK? Day is on this Thursday the 10th of September . As part of our schools participation in R U OK? Day - we will be holding a Free "Dress in Yellow" day. There is no cost involved and we ask that you wear yellow to promote the importance of asking "R U OK?". To also help celebrate R U OK day, our wonderful Support Staff will be serving up free yellow pancakes and cake during first break on Thursday in the bbq undercover area. All students are welcome to come along and grab something to eat and get their face painted while they are there.

04.01.2022 Home Hill State High School Student Council is proud to support Lauries Love. This Friday the 18th of September is Lauries Love Day in the Burdekin Community. Come dressed in black and red or purchase some of the merchandise below to help raise funds for Brain Cancer Research. The Student Council will be selling merchandise at school at first break on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday.
