25.01.2022 PHONE SCAM ALERT There have been a number of recent reports of scam phone calls from a person pretending to be a WorkCover representative. The scammer ask...s the person who picks up the call to respond to an accident that they have previously reported. If the call is not picked up, they leave a message which may sound like, My name is James, calling in regard to the accident you reported to WorkCover. If correct, press 1 to be passed on to your file handler, if not press 2 to be taken off the system. These calls are not from WorkCover Queensland. The scammer does not have any details of the people they are calling. The caller may be trying to lure unsuspecting victims into giving away personal information or the caller may be engaged in other suspicious activity. These calls has been reported to the relevant authorities. If youre unsure if a call is legitimate, or you have received one of these calls, please contact us to check, or let us know, on 1300 362 128.

22.01.2022 Public Health Alert Community members on Brisbanes southside are asked to remain alert but not alarmed as Queensland records three new cases of novel cor...onavirus (COVID-19). The first case is a 19-year-old woman who tested positive after travelling interstate last week. She is an employee at Parklands Christian College on Brisbanes southside. Queensland Health is working closely with the school which has temporarily closed until further notice. The second case is a 19-year-old female travel companion. Both cases travelled interstate together last week. It is believed they contracted the virus in Melbourne, Victoria. The third reported case is a known close contact, a 22-year-old woman, who tested positive later today. This individual is an employee of YMCA Chatswood Hills Outside School Hours Care. Queensland Health is working closely with the school and the care centre, both of which have temporarily closed until further notice.
