22.01.2022 This morning to my horror I received an early phone call from a friend letting me know that one of my Speckle’s in my front paddock was lying with its legs in the air, So panic set in and in my PJ’s and gumboots Clint and I flew down the hill on the quad and due to it being a misty morning saw a white cow looking bloated with its legs in the air, I was filled with dread running over to it only to discover when I got closer that my shit of a boss ( off farm job) had taken the fibre glass cow from work and up ended in my paddock- The biggest April Fools Day prank I have ever had ..... So I have 1 year to think of a way to get him back ......

18.01.2022 I just wanted to send a huge thank you and shout out to my boss John Cochrane the owner of @kenilworthdairies for his support and generosity, Ella and I are currently staying in a Cancer support unit in Brisbane and yesterday boxes of yoghurt’s were delivered for the families that are staying here to enjoy, This warms my heart to know that the support around us is huge and my workplace @kenilworthdairies is right by our side

A Spanish Angel and Two Amy’s all PTIC. This is going to add some new genetics to our little Glenroy family here in Kenilworth. #specklepark

10.01.2022 Our Easter Sunday present a bull calf from our first calving heifer Oakey Creek Joyce and Sire Rose Hill Montagu. Clint checked her last night at 8.30 pm with no sign of calving and then I went down at 10.05 pm and she had calved, cleaned him up and he had already had his first drink , He weighed in this morning at 28kg’s.

10.01.2022 Friday night our little girl come home Wattle Grove 61-Y Pho-Finish Q714 which we purchased at the Wattle Grove twilight sale in February since then she has been holidaying at Sunny Dale with Matt and Mikayla. She certainly knows how to pose for the camera.

What happened? 137 heifers, comprised of 76 F1 Angus x Speckle Park and 61 Angus, were cu...stom-fed together for 100 days as part of a feedlot trial run by the Speckle Park International Technical Subcommittee 2. Dollars per head: on average, the Speckle Park infused heifers returned $149 per head more than the Angus heifers, based on carcase weight 3. Carcase yield: the Angus heifers had a start weight of 20 kilos heavier than the F1 Speckle Park heifers and had a finishing weight 17kg heavier than the Speckle Park heifers, BUT, despite this weight difference, the Speckle Park heifers’ carcases weighed on average 2kg more than the Angus carcases 4. Marbling score: over 50% of the Speckle Park infused heifers received an MSA marbling score of 400+, and over 20% scored 500+. Of the Angus heifers, only 21.7% scored 400+ and 1.7% scored 500+ Congratulations to everyone involved with this successful feedlot trial, with special thanks due to the dedicated crew on our Technical Subcommittee.

03.01.2022 Today at Glenroy we welcomed two new bull calves 1 purebred and one F1 Our little purebred weighed in at 28 kg’s Mum is Oakey Creek Co Co and Sire is Maungahina Kidman’s Cove F1 is Purebred Speckle bull and Droughtmaster mum, All four are doing well....

02.01.2022 This morning we welcomed the last of our purebred calves for the year a little bull sired by All Out .. As well as a little F1 heifer both on Ella’s 16th Birthday a pretty good birthday present for our girl , Anyway I will be glad to finally have a full nights sleep after being on calf watch.
