24.01.2022 A Special Night For The Unit Dragon Skin may be cancelled, however, this hasn't stopped Canterbury Vale District Venturers training for it. The Unit played with... setting up survival covers. The first was a three-man hootchie. Only three small Venturers could fit in. Sleep? No, not enough room. The boys then raised the same hootchie higher and spread it out. Funnily enough, the whole Unit could fit under the cover. Sleep? Possibly, in an emergency. The Unit then changed tact and voted for its 2021 first Unit Leader and Assistant Unit Leader. Canterbury Vale District Commissioner Cheryl Borsak acted as returning officer during the ballot. Congratulations to Nick McCoy for taking the top spot and Kyle Simon Wallace becoming his assistant. Bravoo to you both. Psst ... the shelters were constructed in the rain ... just to add realism.

12.01.2022 The NSW Government has announced the further easing of COVID-19 restrictions, with up to 30 people able to gather outdoors in public spaces from Friday 23 Octob...er 2020. This is great news for our Scout Groups across NSW, many of whom have had to make significant adjustments to their weekly program and outdoor activities to accommodate the restrictions. 11.01.2022 Good morning - with my District Commissioners Hat on - as a district we are in need of many more leaders to keep this movement thriving. The District team have prepared a Facebook post which will posted on as many community sites as we can access across the District. Your child's group needs 2 cub leaders (1 male and 1 female would be ideal) and scout leaders ( at least 1 female would be perfect). Before I go to the wider community I would like to invite all of you to consider whether any of the positions would be of interest. I have included a link to the Scouts NSW website - please find a few minutes to read and see why leaders do what we do. Would love your feedback and the opportunity to provide more information if you need it. Thank you. Maggie. https://www.nsw.scouts.com.au/for-parents/why-i-lead
