25.01.2022 Lots of people asking what they can do to help. This fund is now active and all money raised will go towards the local recovery effort. Every dollar counts.

25.01.2022 Are you passionate about the environment? Do you want to find out how you can make small changes with big impact? We are looking for young people to join the ...Geelong Youth Environment Group, where together we can explore the many issues facing our natural environment in a friendly and fun group. Collectively we will learn how our small changes can contribute to the future wellbeing of our planet. The group meets weekly on a Thursday during school term between 4-6pm at the The Studio, National Wool Museum, 26 Moorabool Street, Geelong For more info please contact Carol at the Youth Development Unit on 5272 4114 or email [email protected]

25.01.2022 Tonight - with clear skies predicted - backyard Scouts have a chance to see a Super Pink Moon (it’s actually a bit orange, not pink). It’s the biggest moon of t...he year. We can see it rise in the east after 6:30pm and it will reach its peak between 11 and 11:30pm tonight. You don’t have to stay up late to see it as, due to the moon illusion, it will appear bigger as it rises above the horizon. 22.01.2022 Our Scouts are still active and made several davinci bridges. All scouts that wanted to go over them did so, as well as the leaders. Great team work was observed as well as problem solving and explaining the problem to the others to work out a solution. minimal leader intervention was required as the Adventurer level scouts were able to control and resolve issues.

22.01.2022 The Australian's are having a blast! There is so much to do and see however, have they solved the mystery yet? #mysterycreek #NZJ2020 #AussiesinNZ #solvethemystery

21.01.2022 Yesterday, the premiere of the Kangaree Reunion was uploaded and 1st Belmont featured a lot! Kangaree was busy, it was exhausting but also incredibly fun! I want to thank Kangaroo (Matt Connors), Melissa Allport (Currawong) and Rosella for being such amazing leaders, who spent the entire time with our mob. I'm sure we broke a record for toilet stops! Our parent helpers, Natasha Judd and Simone Lemmbruggen, who were dressed as clowns for the entire time and literally helped 18...00 Joey Scouts through their base! Ruby Taylor, Venturer extraordinaire, spent a weekend in a kitchen that catered for 2,500 people and still smiled through it all, and of course to our 10 Joey Scouts who braved being away for 2 nights and were so amazing, with no fights, only a couple of 'ouchie' tears that were quickly wiped away with a hug from another Joey Scout and we're proud to say that there was no homesickness. I cannot tell you how proud I am to have been part of such an awesome team. Here is the link for Kangaree 2020 - You will see a Kangaroo sliding on a swan on his birthday, a couple of clowns that look familiar and our Joey Scouts having the time of their lives! https://www.youtube.com/watch See more

From 10am - till 2pm Our juniors wanted to help out as they can’t jump on the fire trucks until they are a senior member. 14.01.2022 Important Information Regarding Top Gear Scout 2020. Dear Top Gear Scout Participant, Leader or Parent, The COVID-19 situation is evolving rapidly, and Scouts V...ictoria continues to adapt our response in line with changing advice and the latest situation. I regret to have to inform you that we have made the difficult decision to postpone Top Gear Scout 2020. We are very sorry to have to make this call but in the end it came down to a few major points: a) The safety and welfare of all Participants, Leaders and the event team, b) We wanted to give you maximum warning so you can change your travel plans, c) There was a financial risk to the event as next week we had to order some $40,000 worth of food & hire equipment. We will definitely run this event later in the year and you’ll be the first to hear of the new plans. At present we are holding everyone’s applications and fees, to minimise the work of cancelling and then having to re-do the whole application process (for us, and for you). We will be back in touch with a further update, when the COVID-19 situation is clearer, and we can safely set a new date. If you need to be in touch in the meantime, please drop me an email at [email protected] I imagine you are disappointed as we are and we thank you for your understanding. The welfare of all Scouts, young and old, remains our top priority. Tom Maddison State Leader Top Gear
