22.01.2022 Yesterday, the former Australian Army Band Darwin, was welcomed to their new home at Robertson Barracks during a re-naming ceremony. The band took on its new name: The Band of the 1st Brigade. Following formalities, the band played their first tune Australian Army Band Corps March, The Minstrel Boy to Commander 1st Brigade, Brigadier Ash Collingburn, DSM, and Commanding Officer of the Band, Lieutenant Colonel Dan Hiscock, OAM... Brigadier Collingburn said, I am delighted to see you settled in to your new home here at Binh Ba Lines, Robertson Barracks, and to have you as part of the 1st Brigade family. 16.01.2022 Soldiers from @1st Combat Engineer Regiment have recently returned from the remote communities of Ramingining and Milingimbi. During their time in the area, Mr Keith Lapulung, Community Liaison Officer, East Arnhem Regional Council, took the soldiers on a tour of Milingimbi airfield where a historical aircraft wreckage from World War Two is on display. 15.01.2022 After eight weeks, around 250 soldiers from 1st Armoured Regiment - Australian Army have returned to Adelaide following their recent deployment to Victoria to assist the Australian Government. While the soldiers of the Regiment usually spend a large amount of time training in the field with their armoured vehicles, 2020 has been far more dynamic. The Regiment deployed to Kangaroo Island earlier this year to assist fire affected communities, and have now completed their task a...longside the Australian Government Department of Health and Victoria Police during the Coronavirus Pandemic. 13.01.2022 Almost 1,200 marines of Marine Rotational Force - Darwin were formally farewelled yesterday at Robertson Barracks in the Northern Territory. The marines will begin to return to their home bases in Okinawa, Hawaii and California, following the completion of the ninth rotation of the force to Darwin. Commander of the 1st Brigade, Brigadier Ash Collingburn, DSM, said it was important to continue building the strong relationship between #OurPartners, the United States Marine Corp...s and the Australian Army, to enhance our interoperability and preparedness to ensure we are always ready. Our ability to work together during training activities is paramount to conducting successful combined operations during a disaster, crisis or conflict. For the last 11 days members of the 1st Brigade trained alongside #OurPartners from Marine Rotational Force Darwin to enhance our ability to work together.
