25.01.2022 NEWS FLASH Just in - A fresh batch of the long awaited roof weatherstrip! It's been a while but it's finally here and ready to ship out to finish off your shiny toys. For this lot I got them to use wider chrome strip so it's closer to the original, unlike the previous batch where the strip was slightly narrow.... It'll fit all 1st and 2nd gen Civic models (including Triumph Acclaim), 1st gen Accord as well as Zots and Lifes. This is for 1st gen Civics (excluding wagon): https://civicgarage.com//roof-weatherstrip-trim-27m-p-1.ht Otherwise go to https://civicgarage.com and find your model in the menu.
21.01.2022 Are you stuck at home with nothing to do but count your toilet paper stash because this little gribbly is running around and the world has gone troppo? You need to get out and work on your car(s)! Now is the perfect time to replace those old cracked rubber seals, rather sad suspension bushes or fix any number of niggly things that always get put off. And you know what? This is the time to buy all those bits and bobs as the Aussie dollar has gone to crap so everything is cheap...er for you overseas types. At the moment the postal system is still working fine in a lot of places (the UK and US are definitely ok and things are not taking very long to get there). I'm not sure about Canada and I suspect parts of Europe might not be that great. If you want things delivered relatively quickly I'd use Australia Post rather than Skippy Post. Skippy Post is cheaper for small things but as they get heavier it's pretty similar and Aus Post is actually cheaper sometimes. The reason to select Australia Post is that things go directly from here to their destination whereas standard Skippy Post is an economy service and things also first make a stopover for processing in Singapore which can take some time. So head over to civicgarage.com and buy, buy, buy!
21.01.2022 Early (1973-77) optional roof console light lens. https://civicgarage.com//roof-console-light-cover-197377-p
21.01.2022 Another new bit: Bonnet (hood) prop holder. Available for both the early 6mm rod and the later 7.5mm plastic coated rod in black, blue or red. The original ones (if present) are next to impossible to remove without breaking (they aren't really designed to be removed) plus have usually gone quite hard by now. AUD8 + postage (they are thin enough to go as a letter so postage won't be ridiculous) https://civicgarage.com//bonnet-hood-prop-rod-holder-p-446
17.01.2022 I have finally managed to get around to making a tool for making the clip cutouts in outer door beltline weatherstrips. I've now got them available for the front and rear doors of 1975-79 4, 5 door and wagon Civics. Inners are still a little way off as I'm still playing with tooling to punch out the inner clip holes. https://civicgarage.com//door-window-outer-weatherstrip-4- https://civicgarage.com//door-window-outer-weatherstrip-4- https://civicgarage.com//door-window-outer-weatherstrip-wa
16.01.2022 A quick note about postage. Lots of people have been contacting me about orders from the last few weeks that haven't arrived yet. Please be patient! The entire world has gone into meltdown and it's taking significantly longer than normal for things to arrive. Early March seemed ok but from the end of March and through April things have just ground to a halt. Some service types have been cancelled (e.g. I now can't send letter sized items that aren't documents, they have to go... as packages, which cost a lot more and there are no guarantees that express post will arrive with any great speed). Many countries have stopped sending and/or receiving mail and those ones where the postal services are still operational are severely backlogged. Australia Post is advising delays of at least 2-4 weeks (personally I'd say 2 week delays are being extremely optimistic and 4-6 weeks is more likely). Skippy Post is even longer as they are having to use sea freight for the leg from here to Singapore (I don't think anything I've sent in the last month has even made it to Singapore yet). Once again, please people, be patient. There is nothing I or anyone else can do about the current situation other than just wait for it to settle down. https://auspost.com.au///coronavirus-international-updates See more
11.01.2022 Further development with postage: I've had to temporarily remove Skippy Post as an international option as they have suspended their service due to their inability to secure cargo space. They are processing and delivering whatever is currently in their system but not accepting any new mail. All orders will have to go via Australia Post for the time being. Price-wise there isn't a lot of difference for heavier items but for small things under 2kg and more specifically under 1k...g Skippy Post was significantly cheaper. For those waiting on orders, once again, please be patient. They will get to you eventually. An express parcel I sent to the UK a bit over a month ago (normally would have taken about a week for delivery) has finally made it into UK customs (now it just has to get through there and actually be delivered) so things are moving, if at a tectonic speed. Hopefully things will return to normal at some point but at this stage I suspect it's many months off. See more
11.01.2022 More newness available now. I'll bet not too many people have intact gearbox breather caps on their manual boxes. The outside rubber of the original breathers cracks apart over time making it easier for dirt and debris to enter the box. This is basically the same design as the original and is a simple push on replacement. This will fit all manual gearboxes: Civic 1973-83, Accord 1976-78, Triumph Acclaim. $10 + post https://civicgarage.com//manual-gearbox-breather-cap-p-451
10.01.2022 Further to the roof weatherstrips: I'll be including a little jig (well two actually) with each order for shaping the ends of them. A little bit of further trimming might be needed but at least they will get you very close to what the ends need to look like to fit under the end caps.
08.01.2022 Following on from the early type taillight housing foam gasket, I've now got the later type done. This one is for the 78/79 two section type taillights. https://civicgarage.com//taillight-foam-gasket-late-p-445.
07.01.2022 Something a little bit different. Oil fill funnel to stop messy spills when changing the oil. Clips into the oil cap hole. Fits on most 1970s and early 80s Honda engines with twist on oil caps (EA, EB, EC, ED, EG, EK, EL, EN etc., possibly Z/N 360/600 and some later 80s engines.) https://civicgarage.com/197376-c/oil-fill-funnel-p-448.html
04.01.2022 Knocked up some black wiper arm nut covers just to see how they would turn out.
04.01.2022 Early taillight housing foam gasket. This gasket sits between the housing and the body. Its primary function is to hold the housing snug against the body and stop any movement or vibration. It also acts as a secondary dust and weather seal, the primary seal being the rubber one around the outside of the housing. Most original ones have crumbled away or turned to solid squashed lumps. Available for the early three section type lights (up to 77) at the moment. 78/79 style coming soon. https://civicgarage.com//taillight-foam-gasket-early-p-444
04.01.2022 Another new bit. Rear view mirror base for later mirrors (1978-79). https://civicgarage.com//rear-view-mirror-base-late-reprod There do seem to be a few different designs in existence so if yours is different to this or the early ones I've already got and you need one, please let me know (with pictures) and I'll see what I can do.
