21.01.2022 The eating is fun but the butter explosion is funner! #ANZACbiscuits

20.01.2022 Hello Cub families - I hope you have been collecting your onion skins and red cabbage this week. If you haven't been able to do this, I'll message you details and I will have some that you can pick up safely. For this Thursday's meeting you will need: onion skins and/or red cabbage... eggs old stockings scissors water and a stove (to boil the eggs/skins/cabbage etc) You'll also need several pieces of paper (for a game and some origami) Scissors texta/pens I also want to you find some small interesting leaves or flowers or 'something' to put on your egg to 'resist' the dye. Here's an example of what we are going to be doing for one part: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xyZ8PP892ng

19.01.2022 Hello Cub families, Just a quick reminder that we are meeting at the Netball Court carpark tonight and then heading out around the coal track and surrounds to look for any animal prints we can find and plaster cast in the handy mud nature has provided. Cubs should bring: A FULL drink bottle - this is important parents! Every time we are away from the hall, one or more of the Cubs don't bring their own drink bottle and they are always thirsty.... Enclosed shoes that you are happy for them to get muddy. Torch Perhaps a warm jacket or jumper in case the temp drops. If they have made or put together their personal first aid kit already, then they should pack that as well. They should carry all this in a backpack of their own. We'll meet you back at the carpark at 8 pm.Parents who want to help out tonight are welcome to join in. Same requirements as above apply to you as well! ;-) Thanks and see you all tonight! 17.01.2022 Look for Kai and Alex in this month’s 2508!

16.01.2022 An update for Cubs from last night's meeting: Bagheera has collected all of your plaster casts and they all dried and the majority are intact. Some really good prints from the deer. Hugo's print looks good too. ;-) I'll have them at the hall next week and you can clean them off and take them home then.... See you Sunday if you are coming to Clean up Australia Day!

15.01.2022 Hi Cubs - in light of the difficulties we are having with sorting out the permission forms, we'll postpone tonight's walk and meet at the hall instead! I'll send an email to confirm. Apologies to everyone who has wrestled with the system to approve for tonight, but I'll go in and try and change the date now for next week. Thanks,... Bagheera

15.01.2022 Hello Cub families - I'll be sending out an email today seeking input about holding our meetings 'remotely' - what software you might already have and what the easiest way to do this might be! Please check your inboxes and get back to me if you can. thanks and stay safe,... Bagheera

14.01.2022 Don't forget - no Cubs tonight. Back next week and I'll send an email with details soon!

14.01.2022 Thank you to the Cubs that were able to join in tonight with our virtual Cub session - I know it was short and we will run a bit longer next week for our last one of term. It was lovely to see all your faces again. I miss you! I'll send through the orienteering instructions by email tomorrow. Don't forget you can only do with an adult from your own house but it will be good exercise!... See you all next week. Bagheera

14.01.2022 Howdy Cubs - reminder email on the way but just in case you don't check your emails - we're at the hall tonight as per the program. We're going to give our snack cooking on the fire another go! Plan>Do>Review in action!

12.01.2022 Busy Cubs tonight. Practicing Reef knots and sewing their first aid pouches. Thanks to our special guest leaders tonight on the sewing machines!

12.01.2022 Hello all, I've just sent an email around to remind Cubs that we are doing cycling this Thursday and we are meeting up at the Netball Court carpark. For Joeys - we need to start on Thursday a tiny bit later this week only - we'll run 5.15 - 6.15. Apologies for any inconvenience.

12.01.2022 Cubs! Instructions for this week’s challenge have been emailed!

12.01.2022 Happy first week back Cubs! Don't forget that tonight's meeting will be by zoom - check emails for the link and what we are going to be doing tonight. You might want to have a piece of paper and a pencil or pen handy!... Next week's meeting will also be by zoom and we'll be doing Mother's Day craft - I'll get the supplies to you for this one. Talk to you tonight, Bagheera

11.01.2022 For our Cubs - we've been watching the sky to the east each week and looking at Jupiter and Saturn in anticipation of the full moon. amazing photo!

10.01.2022 Hi Cubs - I've emailed the instructions for the small orienteering course set up. If you find this one too easy, we'll have some more challenges for you in the coming weeks. Remember, reading a compass is a really useful skill. There are lots of places you might go or bushwalk where there won't be a mobile phone signal or you might run out of battery.... Feel free to add photos below if you find all the markers but don't give it away too soon for the others! And follow all the physical distance rules - although if you are finding most of the markers properly, you should be keeping out of people's way. :-D

09.01.2022 Happy Thursday Cubs - your link and the program for tonight is just about to be emailed home! See you all in a few hours! Bagheera

08.01.2022 Don't forget our torch bushwalk tonight! I've opened up the permission form in Operoo again for those that haven't yet been able to sign. Let me know if you have any questions at all! We've got a great night for it by the looks of things.

08.01.2022 Hi Cubs! We are still on tonight for Cubs and mother's day craft. I've just been having a bit of difficulty getting some of the materials, so ideas have changed. I will still drop around what you need to you today though so keep an eye out and join the zoom meeting tonight for instructions! The link will be sent later today. Also - Cub families, if you think that you have moved since you gave us your address details for the Scout system, can you urgently email me your new add...ress please. I'll be making deliveries this afternoon. And lastly - our challenge winners for this week were: Cody (super fast getting this done!) Alex Kai Well done you three and families! Look for some extra treats in your bag when I drop it off. :-D

06.01.2022 Cubs did a great job with their shelter building last night. They all got excellent scores for creativity - they had landscaping, golf courses, flags and feature plants! Slightly lower marks for actual waterproofness and stability. Well done Cubs! I’m not sure how comfortable you would all have found sleeping sitting up, but they were all still intact this morning when I took them down.

04.01.2022 Hello all. SURPRISE! It's raining - no cycling tonight. See you at the hall at the usual time! thanks,... Bagheera

04.01.2022 For Cubs working on their Rube Goldberg machine ideas - here's some inspiration! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OHwDf8njVfo
