22.01.2022 Looking to expand your knowledge about local involvement in WWI by Shire of Lillydale residents ( now part of Yarra Ranges Council) Lilydale RSL in conjunction with Anthony Macaleer local military historian has created a diary of movements enlisted local participants. Looking back over a 100 years you can see the origins of road names and other local landmarks. The picture posted is of Ralph Goode the 1st Lillydale local to enlist in 1914. 21.01.2022 Big announcement tomorrow from the Chief Commissioner of Scouts in Victoria The Premiers announcement on the weekend gave us a promising sign for a staged return to normal activities. We are finalising a plan to resume more face to face Scouting including timing and direction for opening halls and further extensions to outdoor activities which we will share with you on Thursday. 09.01.2022 With a crazy year nearly behind us 1st Lilydale Scout Group has decided to finish the year with some fun! Sock styles and sizes are listed below but get in quick as they will run out the door! These will be available for purchase over the coming weeks before/after unit meetings - Tuesdays from 6.45-7.15pm and Thursdays from 6.45-7.15pm. All socks are $5 a pair and over $1 from each sale goes directly to the group to support our amazing programs. Cash is preferable but transfer can be arranged. Support your local group and have some fun doing it! :)

06.01.2022 Hi all Further to my update yesterday:- On the current government indication, from Monday November 2 metropolitan Scout Groups can enjoy Patrol or small-group outdoor Scouting, and regional Groups can return to their halls (up to 20 people if space permits, for non-contact activities). Scout campsites in metro Melbourne will also be able to open for household bookings and for single day Scouting activities.... I will be meeting with Section Leaders in the coming days to do some planning. Looking forward to running some face to face activities before the end of the year. Thanks Pippa

05.01.2022 Hi all, The group have accepted a Bunnings Barbeque at Lilydale Bunnings on Sunday the 28th of February and we thought this would be a great opportunity to raise some funds while promoting our amazing group. We need volunteers to help out on the day, if you haven't been involved before this is a great way to meet other parents and have fun doing it. Please let Ange or Pip know by responding here or to your unit leader if you are able to put your hand up for any of the follow...ing time slots: 9-11.30am 11.30-2pm 2pm-4.30pm In addition we will need a "gopher" to be on standby to purchase additional supplies as the day goes on and someone to provide cut up onions would be much appreciated. 03.01.2022 Hi all Yesterday’s announcements regarding the easing of restrictions gives us some hope of returning to outdoor scouting in the not too distant future. I am still awaiting advice from Scouts Victoria regarding what we will be able to do. As soon as I have clarity on that I will pass it on. ... Your Section Leaders and I are all really keen to get back out there but we have to ensure that we are following the rules and maintaining the safety and well-being of all. 02.01.2022 Hi families By now you would probably have heard that the State Government have announced the closure of schools and other non essential services from Tuesday 24 March. As a result we will be suspending all face to face meetings, camps and activities until further notice. Please be assured that the leadership team are working hard to ensure virtual programs and activities will continue in the meantime.... We are committing to ensure child safety procedures are maintained. Visibility of all activities will be provided to parents, leaders and youth members. 01.01.2022 For those reading .. in short 1st Lilydale Scout programs are running as planned with extra precautions in place Read on from the Chief Commisioner of Victoria Rod Byrnes Following advice today by the State and Federal Government, there should be no indoor Scouting activities with more than 100 participants.... The Scouts Victoria limit of 200 participants still applies for outdoor activities and events. The Prime Minister says controls could remain for 6-12 months A new summary of how coronavirus is affecting our program, plus news and support, is now on the Scouts Victoria website. https://scoutsvictoria.com.au/ Previous key points Scouting in Victoria is continuing, in line with schools. Our young people need social support. This is also in line with Scouts Australia and Scouting in other States. Some Scout Groups have closed early for the holidays due to local circumstances. Activity guidelines apply to indoor and outdoor activities and events. A number of events have been cancelled or postponed. Others are under review. Scout Victoria is developing Scouting at home programs for Section Leaders to run. Updates and queries to [email protected] Good Scouting and stay safe!
