21.01.2022 The pinnacle of a Cub Scout’s journey is to achieve the Grey Wolf Award. It requires a LOT of hard work, dedication and determination to earn this award and it really is a great achievement. 1st St Andrews are super proud of our very own Robert S who was awarded his Grey Wolf today after meeting the requirements in September. Congratulations Robert, we are all so very proud of you!!!!

21.01.2022 What a great night we had at Cubs tonight!!! Our Cubs were invited to come along in dress up if they wanted to and we had some great costumes! . We then followed up with some toboggan relay races that relied on teamwork and cooperation. The Cubs then made some scary (and some happy) ghost decorations before decoding the Cub Scout prayer in their sixes. We rounded out the night with a Halloween piñata which provided our Cubs with toys and lollies and the parents watching with a whole lot of laughs

20.01.2022 We are always sad to say goodbye to our Cub friends, but we all wish Robert the very best as he 'goes up' to the Scout section. We know he'll have wonderful adventures and make many new friends in his new section, but we sure are going to miss him! Thanks for being a fantastic, caring Sixer Robert, I'm sure you'll be just as valued in Scouts. The pics are: Robert with his two Cub Scout Leaders Bagheera and Kaa on his last night as a Cub, Robert on his first day of Cubs as an 8 year old, Robert on his last day of Cubs as an 11 year old.

15.01.2022 Lest We Forget!

14.01.2022 For something a little different, Alec got onto HAM radio and spoke to a few people. On radio you have to have a call sign and Alec used mine. It usually starts with VK however in commemoration of Anzac Day, we were allowed to use AX prefix. Alec made five contacts in the hour he was on radio.

13.01.2022 Our Cubs learn the basics of ropes which include the parts of a rope and basic knots to tie and use. Once we review the parts of a rope and how to tie knots, we turn it into a game where that knowledge is put to practical use in a fun way. Here our Cubs learn about a clove hitch and then compete with each six (our divisions within the pack) using the clove hitch to make a pull rope then pull the bottles back to the starting line.

12.01.2022 Head down to Bunnings at Gregory Hills for our fund raising sausage sizzle. Our sausages are a huge success! Thanks in part to Blue Ribbon Quality Meats at Leumeah, where we sourced our sausages from. Thank you to Nathan and your team!

11.01.2022 Come on down to Bunnings at Gregory Hills. We are now serving sausages to raise funds for our Cubs!

09.01.2022 Our cubs visited the Reptile Ramble hosted at Hume Region Headquarters. The Cubs learned about reptiles and amphibians while getting to hold and touch some live creatures.

08.01.2022 Cubs are having parade outside now that summer weather is here!

05.01.2022 Some of our cubs went on a camp this weekend with other cubs from Hume Region. There was nice weather and they undertook a few activities. One highlight was a bushwalk around Coutts Camp to see the area from up high. We even saw a local who lives in the camp!

05.01.2022 Cub Scouts have their own prayer they say at the closing of each get together. To help new Cubs learn the prayer, and older Cubs to remember, we had an activity for the cubs to fill in the blanks. We went over the prayer and the Cubs completed the prayer close passage

05.01.2022 We held our family Christmas camp at Kiama Scout Hall this weekend. All had a great time.

04.01.2022 We had a busy few days here getting ready to commemorate ANZAC Day. The driveway dawn service was a big hit in our street with at least 10 families of our near...est neighbours coming out with candles, wreaths and flags. The boys’ favourite part was camping out in the lounge room, but mine was the ANZAC biscuit making (and eating) and wreath making. See more

03.01.2022 Robert’s Dawn Service, We shall remember them.

03.01.2022 Today was a very special day for one of our Cubs. Our Cubs have awards they work on during their time in Cub Scouts. The culmination of all that hard work may result in obtaining the highest award, the Grey Wolf Award, which only some Cubs achieve. Today James was presented with his Grey Wolf Award. All that hard work James has put into his achievements has paid off! ... This was also the first time in ten years a St Andrews Cub has achieved this Award. Well done James!

02.01.2022 Tonight the Cubs are singing songs around the campfire.

01.01.2022 Way to go Robert, looks like you had fun!
