22.01.2022 On World Scout Day we'd like to say Thank You to the leaders that make this happen, who give up their time, their annual leave, who take time away from their families to provide opportunities like these for the youth of the world. It is on this day that Adults are recognised through the Scouts Victoria Adult Recognition Awards. Congratulations to Rob Sanderson for his Silver Wattle, Jarrod Bell for Meritorious Service and Natasha Di Vito for Special Service. 17.01.2022 50 years ago today! We are proud of all our Scouting representatives all over the world. It’s a great way to show how Scouting can turn Youth of all ages, genders and races and show how they can become the trailblazers of tomorrow. Think about what it could do for your child.

16.01.2022 Hi parents, have you ever thought of letting your kids try Scouts? Now that we're stuck indoors with COVID safety measures, did you think 'Ah well, we can't try that yet' ? Are they bored stuck at home all day, with nothing to do after the online school lessons have finished? We are Scouting from Home and it has been announced this week as FREE for the remainder of 2020! Please contact us at 1st Sunbury Scout Group for more information. 11.01.2022 A MESSAGE REGARDING THE FIRES ACROSS OUR STATE Dear Scouting Friends, we are all shocked by the devastating fires and we keep all who live in the fire ravaged ...areas in our hearts and thoughts, may they stay safe as conditions over the weekend make this crisis more difficult. Losses will be assessed later so far as our properties but what concerns us the most is those families who have lost their homes especially our members (including their families) who have been impacted. I’d (Scouts Victoria) would like to organise some form of fundraising so that we as a movement can provide some direct support for those scouting families who may have lost everything. I’ve spoken to our Region Commissioners of the fire areas and assured them of our ongoing support. If you do have an idea or are able to assist with a fundraising effort either at a state level or locally please email me on [email protected] Both Rod (our incoming Chief and I have access to these emails). We will strike a special badge which will be available for order from the office once we reopen and will be able to be work on the uniform alongside and in addition to one other special event badge. All proceeds will go towards the fire relief effort. Details of this initiative to come over the next week so that Groups can make orders for the start of the Scouting year. To those impacted, may you take some strength knowing our thoughts are with you and know that Scouting is a family that stands by its family members. We will be there after this catastrophe. 08.01.2022 Our District Commissioner has put up a 7 day challenge for the Group Leaders of the district to post 7 photos over 7 days of us with our group. Day 1. I love this photo, it means so much to me. This was the year we were able to manage a Joey Mob on our own after being supported by 3rd Sunbury for many years while we searched for a Joey leader. Our scouting family is an amazing unit and this was taken at one of our Christmas parties and I use it to show the sections (also how great our female scouts are!), I'm so immensely proud of the growth our Group has shown over the past almost 5 years due to our dedicated leaders, the great program they are running and the amazing support of our parents.

We also have a huge birthday milestone this year. 1st Sunbury Scouts was established 100years ago and the program they started with us still very much relevant today. We have vacancies for all sections boys and girls! Try for 3 no-obligation sessions. (Just to make sure they love it) Also on the lookout for energetic leaders to join our great team.
