18.01.2022 September 20th marks 1st Turramurra Scout Group's Centenary... one hundred years of providing fun, adventure, skills, and friendships for thousands of young people from Turramurra and surrounding suburbs. Unfortunately, the pandemic means our planned celebrations will have to be delayed until next year. Regardless, 1st Turramurra continues to offer amazing experiences and opportunities for children and young people aged 8-25 to join... as well as for adults interested to be p...art of our volunteer leadership and support team. Here's to our next one hundred years! #1stTurramurraScouts

14.01.2022 Last week the 1st Turramurra Cubs installed a compost bin to the side of our hall. Apart for general availability to the Group, it can be used for scraps from the Rovers' Box Divvy food program. The Cubs kicked it off by collecting small amounts of green and brown (dry) waste from around the hall. Over the next few months, they will monitor and watch the transformation of waste into reusable soil. Useful projects contributing towards the final stages of their Boomerang badgew...ork. Signs around the bin were made by the Cubs from recycled cardboard to demonstrate "reuse". These will themselves be put into the bin as they weather. A great way to help our Cubs learn about being environmentally responsible! #1stturramurracubs #1stTurramurraScouts

09.01.2022 Last weekend, four Turramurra Rovers were among 20 Rovers and Rover Advisers from around Sydney North Region who completed a Youth Mental Health First Aid course. Delivered by the trainers from the State Rover Council's PAW (Psychological Awareness & Welfare) Patrol, it was an eye-opening and intense two days, that equipped everyone with a great toolkit to further support fellow Rovers and younger Scouts. #RoversDoStuff... #TurramurraRovers See more

01.01.2022 With limited outdoor activities now permitted and the return of face-to-face Scouting on the horizon, now is the best time to get ready to get back to Scouting ...as we know it! Some sports and other activities were cancelled due to COVID but Scouting continued and will keep going until the end of the year. We know that the return to face-to-face Scouting may be challenging in a number of ways for some families. The NSW Government’s Active Kids rebate can assist with the cost of Scouting. The good news is that the second Active Kids voucher will be available to claim in a few short weeks. Mark 1 July on your calendar for the release of the second Active Kids voucher. This year, both Active Kids vouchers used with Scouts will go towards the cost of the Scouts NSW membership fee (and joining fee if you are a new member).
