21.01.2022 We present our 2019 segment of LOCAL HERO | DAHLIA MIKHA SAFAR | In association with HUME CITY COUNCIL At just 19 years of age, Dahlia stopped walking and talking. She was diagnosed with Wilson’s diseasea rare genetic disorder. Although doctors told her that she’d never walk or talk again, her determination and courage are the reasons for her triumphant improvement. Today, she no longer uses her wheelchair, she has successfully completed three university degrees and even wrote and self-published a book. Although her speech still hasn’t returned, her smile and sense of humour usually say it all. Hume City Council Puneet Gulati Bobby Beebob Sandeep Raj Films Glamourlicious by Sam

13.01.2022 Team OWF would like to introduce Baker Dawas into the One World Family as the new Community Connections Manager. Baker, a Career Aviation Firefighter and also a Volunteer Firefighter with the CFA. Originally migrated here when he was a child with his family. He has been involved within the community and we’re lucky to have the intelligent young man on board as the new CCM. Baker’s vision is simple, to help the youths of today find there way in life and tackle the issue of bu...llying in the school environment. His also a multicultural advocate within the community by making it easier for families adapt to the Australian culture. I’m excited to be within this organisation, I want to give back what this country has given me, most importantly we need to support the youths of today as they are the future of tomorrow. It’s hard to do things alone, a lending hand makes a big difference. I wouldn’t be where I am today without the help of friends, family and strangers. Baker is currently working on the new ‘FAS’ program to help students within the school environment talk about the issue of bullying and to provide support to multicultural students. As it’s still in the early planning stage, we’re excited to bring the program in effect in a few months time. Welcome Aboard Baker ! #GlobalCitizens
