24.01.2022 The smile says it all...when Sotar arrived to start the 12 months lease he was started on this feed. Sadly the feed produce store stopped getting this feed from Victoria around April. It was the best feed for our horses, I've used for so many years. I've started to phase out HyGain Showtorque and add Compleat Lite in slowly over 2 weeks period.

24.01.2022 Exciting times ahead for us...one step closer to owning Sotar!! We couldn't let Sotar go back after his 12 months lease here which will expire on the 10th January. Thanks to the owners who agreed to allow us to pay off into 2016. I sat down with Samara to what she wants to do with Sotar. And she wanted to keep him regardless if he was perfect or not. He sometimes is naughty with his little bucks at times. So...have put down first payment and more to come till we own the lovely Sotar who has wormed his way to our hearts!

21.01.2022 Sotar's owners came to visit him this afternoon but he was just too interested in eating (lol). They could not believe it's almost 12 months since he left his Toowoomba home to live with us at Beaudesert. Exciting times for us ahead with Sotar.

21.01.2022 Sotar will be moving to new acreage property at Cedar Vale soon. Watch this space with photos!

15.01.2022 Today was the day Samara decided to ride her boy, Sotar after a long time no ride due her Grade 11 schoolwork and having a part time job didn't help. Sotar was good boy, only walked around for a start. (Not good video quality...recorded on iPhone)

14.01.2022 Sotar today...it's 39 degrees at Beaudesert QLD. No riding till these ridiculous temps come down a bit. Sadly my super cool coach Tammy who no longer rides as she had to give up riding because of her back issues. Once the weather cools down a bit and I'm going to ride him more to get going without coach to ride but Tammy will help from ground.

14.01.2022 Few years back I jumped at the chance of meeting and watch the infamous Gary Lung at Cedar Grove Riding Club. They had the Gary Lung clinic there for members. That's how I came to know him and he has welcomed me to his lovely Windhill Dressage Stables many times. I did had few lessons in the past with Gary on Cullen and Ted (RIP). I didn't have lessons on Sotar with Gary even though I stopped riding due to Sotar's bucking problem that took my confidence out of me. After tragi...c death of Ted, my daughter was left horseless and was going to do some jumping but that never happened. While I was searching for another big horse like Ted and came across to a lovely Holsteiner WB gelding who actually was for sale, not lease. We were just lucky that the owners decided to let us have him on 12 months lease. It's supposedly to be Samara's horse but sadly her heart isn't in it since Ted's death. After 12 months lease was up, I couldn't let Sotar go back home to Toowoomba so I've bought him on part payment and still paying off. Look forward to one day we own him outright. Sotar has mellowed out since he had been on long spell due to small bucking problem. But he's ready to come back under saddle again and I had the checklist all ticked off to ensure there is no reason for his problem under saddle. Booked a lesson finally on the 23rd August to kick start the lessons again, I took Sotar and to be honest I was nervous what will the outcome be but Sotar was good boy with no issues at all, did what Gary asked him to do - walk, trot and canter both ways with no problems at all. Super pleased and hope he stays this way. I got on and rode him with the intention of just walking but Gary had other ideas...got me to do some trotting both ways. Ended on a good note! Have booked another lesson next week :) Gary suggested that I concentrate on Sotar first for the time being before thinking about riding other horses.

14.01.2022 I thought I would start writing to how many horses Samara has had before she got Sotar on 12 months lease with option to buy. At first Samara had 2 years of riding lessons with Kristen (By Design Equestrian Centre), riding an old boy called Doc. Samara got a lease with old Cocktail but was given to her as a Christmas Surprise present in 2011. Then riding was only short time as Cocktail simply didn't want to be ridden anymore. Samara gave him well-deserved retirement in May,...Continue reading

12.01.2022 Today I came home late around 5.30pm and the pecking order of the horses. Well It took Sotar 9 months to move up to 1st place in the pecking order. I couldn't believe when I saw Sotar chased Cullen away from food. Now it's 1. Sotar 2. Cullen... 3. Cocktail As I said I wouldn't be surprised that Sotar would move up the ladder like Ted (RIP) did. And now Sotar has !! (lol)

11.01.2022 First day of December...Sotar is a bit grubby, hasn't been washed or groomed for a while and had no rugs on for two days too hot!

11.01.2022 I will still post things about Sotar here, however I've opened a page for this year which will involve Sotar - here's the link if you wanted to keep in the loop https://www.facebook.com/Pimp-my-Ride-the-Dressage-version-331633987007031/

10.01.2022 Sotar once again shifted to a new rental property with just over 7 acres of hilly land. Couldn't find a better place but that'll do for us for 12 months lease. Photos of today

09.01.2022 I've blended in the Compleat Lite half way with HyGain Showtorque to phase out. I'm doing it slowly to give Sotar time to adapt the changes. I'll look forward when he's on full feed. The photo of handsome Sotar at the beginning of the year when he was on full Compleat Feed.

08.01.2022 And photos as well of late this afternoon's ride. (Not good quality as taken with iPhone)

07.01.2022 Sotar's Lunging yesterday afternoon.

03.01.2022 Take that leap! Happy New Year!!

01.01.2022 A surprise came my way as it was not expected. All I did was to like, comment and share the page of Chevalin Lodge. They were sharing their page for Facebook to like, comment and share the page...to win a set of 5 poles of any color the winner choose. Asked Samara to what colors and she chose to match Sotar's colors which was red, blue and white. I think I'll buy the 2 jump stand to match the poles I won for Samara.

01.01.2022 Sotar yesterday...he's looking awesome!! He's coming back into work after a long spell. Will be having lessons with Gary Lung, can't wait
