23.01.2022 Urgent call for officials: Daryl Tunbridge Trial and Steve Richards Memorial R4S Novice Trial BLCC will be hosting Round 2 of the Victorian Club Rally Series on Saturday 20 May a little over two weeks away. Our grass roots event will be based at the Talbot Recreation Reserve and comprises 5 stages that will be run twice, once as a navigational challenge, then route charted. But it requires 55 officials to spend that evening in the forest, including 29 Road Closures and... 4 Passage Controls, as well as a Stage Commander, Start Control and Finish Control for each stage. The organising team would also appreciate several hands with event preparation, eg admin; equipment distribution; forest setups. We expect to have everyone packed up by 12:30am. Camping is available at Rally HQ (Talbot Reserve) for a small fee, and the Football/Netball Club will be catering. The famous Talbot Farmers' Market is on Sunday 21st, and the Talbot Provedore will have a special deal for BLCC members on the Saturday and Sunday (chef Christopher Howe is a BLCC member). 11.01.2022 Maryborough Wings and Wheels will be held on the fourth weekend in September in Maryborough Victoria. Maryborough in the heart of the Victorian Goldfields between Bendigo and Ballarat and only 1.5 hours drive from Melbourne.... The event combines car and motorbike shows, vehicle rallies, swap meet, cruising, aircraft fly-ins and a major speed trial/sprint day on Sunday at the Maryborough aerodrome. The event is held over the weekend across various locations including the Historic Railway Station precinct (Station Domain), the Maryborough Airport and gold heritage towns including Talbot and Dunolly. The Maryborough Wings and Wheels are brought to you by a coalition of the community organizations managed by the Rotary Club of Maryborough. Also the Ballarat Light Car Club is managing the sprints. The Central Goldfields Shire Council provides facilities. The 2017 Wings and Wheels 1/4-mile sprints are approaching fast. The event has been running for the last few years now. This year the Ballarat Light Car Club has taken over the motorsport side of the Festival to be conducted at the Maryborough Airport on the Saturday the 23rd and Sunday the 24th of September. There have been a few changes to the original concept. The age of eligible cars has moved from 1970 to 1980, there are now a junior’s class and an invited class (cars of special interest that don’t meet the age). The event will run over two days not just the Sunday like in the past. There will be the traditional 1/4 Sprint (timed) and also the inclusion of slalom Motorkhana. The entry fee for the weekend is $95.00 and 45.00 for juniors. The mile sprint will consist of a 20-meter rolling start to decrease the impact on the runway surface. The Wing and Wheels event has a lot to offer the whole family with different events running in and around Maryborough including car shows, markets, Rock and Roll dance on the Saturday night plus much more. 11.01.2022 No more sleeps the 2015 BLCC Daryl Tunbridge Novice Trail is go. I would like to thank all that has supported the event thus far. With other major events to compete with this weekend we still managed 24 entries, filled all officials positions . The roads aee looking great with a couple of puddles.
