20.01.2022 The YWCA Canberra Clubhouse has teamed up with Richardson Primary School this term to run a 'Music Events' Richardson Interest and Pursuits Program (RIPP) at th...e Clubhouse! The YR 4/5 students taking part will be hosting the YR 6 Richardson Graduation Disco in December - planning is already in full-swing! The students, who have dubbed themselves 'The RIPP City DJ's', wasted no time by testing out the sound-system today with their curated, party-starting 80's-inspired playlist...and yes you can expect some Rick Astley! #WhereTechnologyMeetsImagination #theclubhousenetwork #discofever2020 See more

17.01.2022 The UN came to visit us for 'World Children’s Day'!! Julia Dean and Cigi Surrao from UNIC Canberra popped by the YWCA Canberra Clubhouse to help celebrate 'Worl...d Children’s Day' - the day, which happens on 20 November each year, promotes international togetherness, awareness among children worldwide, and improving children's welfare. Today also marks the anniversary of the date that the UN General Assembly adopted both the Declaration and the Convention on children's rights. Julia fielded many questions from the inquisitive Richardson Primary kindergarten class before partying with them at a disco hosted by The Canberra Clubhouse Crew DJ’s! This fantastic video show-reel of the UN visit was filmed and produced by the YWCA Canberra Clubhouse. Special shout-out to new Clubhouse member Peta E for composing the music featured in this video. Please feel free to ‘share’ this video far and wide - thanks in advance. Enjoy! #WorldChildrensDay #UNICEF #United Nations #ACT Public Schools #The Clubhouse Network #WhereTechnologyMeetsImagination #UNIC Canberra

17.01.2022 Canberra Clubhouse member Ron hand-painted a Warcraft figurine last week that was made using The Clubhouse's MakerBot Replicator Mini 3D printer! Awesome stuff Ron. #WhereTechnologyMeetsImagination #The Clubhouse Network

07.01.2022 Happy World Teachers’ Day! Teaching a bright future

06.01.2022 As part of our inquiry into how things change as they grow, the preschool Butterflies group conducted an experiment with bean seeds. We wanted to find out if seeds grew in different growing conditions. The seeds we kept in the cupboard, out of the sun, grew a lot quicker than the seeds we kept in the sun. We also put some snow pea seeds on cotton wool so that we could watch them grow. At the end of the term, our seed plants were getting too big for their containers. We planted them in the garden so that we could keep watching them grow. These are the beans and snow peas that have been picked from the plants we grew. Both the beans we kept in the cupboard and the beans we kept in the sun have kept growing and have beans growing on them.

04.01.2022 The YWCA Clubhouse popped by the ‘Butterflies’ Koori Class at Richardson yesterday for a tour of their amazing music studio that they’ve set-up in their classro...om! While we were there we dropped off a musical keyboard for the ‘Butterflies’ to add to their studio collection, kindly donated by our good friends at The Woden School. Thanks for having us, we had a blast...see you again soon! #WhereTechnologyMeetsImagination #The Clubhouse Network

03.01.2022 One of our new RIPP activities is Scavenger Hunts. We needed to work out the riddles, then find and photograph in the playground. Then share our photos with the group. Such fun!
