10.01.2022 Is anyone familiar with this little guy? The Brown Marmorated Stink Bug (BMSB) is a significant pest that originated in Asia and is now on the march through Europe and the America’s including the USA and Canada. It’s arrival into Australia would be a huge problem for our country and pose a significant risk to the multi-billion dollar Australian agricultural sector.... It is an indiscriminate feeder with a voracious appetite for just about anything. In addition, it secretes a pretty foul smelling odour (hence the name) and if you come in contact with it, can cause skin irritations. once established, it is a pest that is proving extremely difficult to eradicate. As such, the Australian Department of Agriculture and Water Resources (Australian Quarantine) is desperate to ensure that this pest does not arrive and become established in Australia. They now impose strict seasonal measures on certain imported cargo during the BMSB season which runs from September to May. Former AFL stars Ryan O’Keefe, Scott Cummings and Wayne Schwass are pulling on the lycra and tackling nearly 2,000 kilometres in a bid to stamp out suicide. They’ll be joined on the bike by another 29 riders when the Puka Up Grand Tour kicks off at Marvel Stadium this Wednesday and makes its way through some of Victoria’s most challenging terrain across ten days. The purpose of the Tour is to eliminate suicide.

As a Champion Sponsor of the 2019 Puka Up Grand Cycling Tour, we have put our support behind Jason Gledhill.... Jason is a great friend of ours and he along with Wayne and 32 other cyclist will embark on a 10 day, 1800 km ride through Victoria in early March to continue bringing attention to mental health issues and honour those Australians lost to suicide each year. It’s a great privilege and honour to support Jason along with Wayne and his team at Puka Up. We wish them every success on this ride and their continued efforts in raising mental health awareness.
