22.01.2022 Nutrition Plus and Juice Plus are proud to support 38 young players on the NSWRL's Indigenous Young Achievers tour of France and Italy, by supplying Complete to each player with a shaker for each day of their tour to help with their game recovery. The21 day tour from 8-28 November, takes non-elite indigenous players from across NSW, from places as small and remote as Bourke and Collarenebri, to some of the most historical sites in Europe particularly locations significant to... Aboriginal Australians, including battlefields of the Somme, focusing on the Indigenous involvement in the World Wars. The touring party will also attend a reception at the Australian Embassy in Paris and be guests of the Mayor of Villers-Bretonneux for the laying of the wreaths on Armistice Day. Many of the boys have never been to Sydney before and most of them have never been overseas. The wonderful thing about this trip is that they are not only going over to have a great time playing football but also visit places that are important to our story, the story of reconciliation. It's very special. Nutrition Plus would like to wish this amazing team of young men all the best for their gruelling game schedule and a trip of a lifetime. If you would also like to support the 2015 Indigenous Young Achievers Tour, contact Steve Hall, NSWRL Indigenous Rugby League Development Officer on (02) 9359 8500 or via [email protected]

17.01.2022 UPDATE 22/11/15 Sunday 1:13pm 12 degrees Celsius 2015NSW 2015 NSW Under 17 Indigenous Rugby League European Tour. 8am Breakfast Bus departs for ROME Arrive Rome - Accommodation MONASTERY OSSO (LAR 197 ROME)... Settle in and local visit. Update from games against ITALY 1 AND ITALY 2 The boys played in the pouring rain and only 4 degrees to make the conditions even worse. Game 1 Team Deadly V Italy U18 National Team, Team Deadly took a massive lead to the half time break, during the break the coach decided to bring three players off the field and play with ten men, he also decided we should kick the ball on tackle 1 or 2 to give the opposition a chance, it worked as they score three tries in the second half which was great, we scored 14 in the first half though. Our three guest players from the Czech Republic all played great for us. Game 2 Black Joeys vs Italy Under 20s when the boys walked out on the field, they were concerned due to their size and in the first set they smashed the boys, once the boys played a little bit wider the opposition couldnt go with the boys and walked off at half time 36-0. The second half saw the boys again dictate and more points were added to a final score of 56-4. 8 wins from 8 games Who hoo boys Undefeated your !! See more

14.01.2022 Hi everyone As I write this it's 1am local time and in a few short hours we will be on our way to Monaco and Italy Our last day in Avignon was ... A footy day, our boys had a light run this morning to prepare for the two games tonight. We were told that the older team which was to play the black kangaroos wasn't available and that we would be playing a local team and our boys won convincingly 50-10 and if we kicked our goals it would of been closer to 70 Man of the match was Kotoni Staggs Much to our surprise the team which wasn't available suddenly appeared and played against team deadly. The opposition were bigger and stronger and looked older but our boys took it to them from the kick off and held their own. We had a player sent off and then another in the sin bin, but our boys shoved it up them and won 22-4. Man of the match was Connor Elwood We are all so proud of these boys for taking it to them. So we walk out of France with a perfect 6 from 6 victories . Special mention to everyone on the families tour, the noise they have generated supporting our boys have been tremendous. The hospitality showed the boys from the French XIII has been second to none Thanks Perry

13.01.2022 My Diary | Indigenous Young Achievers Tour Fri 13th November, 03:30PM IMG_0171 Making the long trip around the world from Wagga Wagga to Europe, 16-year-old Tyson Hodge reflects on his adventure of a lifetime, representing the Indigenous Young Achievers side touring France and Italy.... Leaving Wagga Wagga to travel to Europe has been one of the biggest treks I have undertaken in my life. We were farewelled from Sydney on Sunday after roll call and introductions. The flights were very long, and we had to stop via Dubai. I slept ok which helped me with jet lag when we finally landed in Paris on Monday morning. We didnt get too long to rest as we spent the day sightseeing and taking in popular attractions of Paris. Seeing the Eiffel tower and all the other historical sites of Paris has made me realise just how big the world really is compared to Wagga Wagga. For me, meeting with some old friends and meeting new mates has been a highlight thus far. On Tuesday, we were officially wlecomed at the Australian Embassy with a live cultural performance. Meeting the Consular General of France was a great experience. Nicolas Croizer was a friendly man and took time to speak to everyone and pose for photos. Being at Villiers-Bretonneux on Armistice Day (Wednesday) and learning about the history of what the Australian serviceman and women did for the liberty and freedom for all is something we should never ever take for granted. Playing football on the day 100 years after the battle is a great eay to celebrate life and honour the real heroes in society. Playing on a 100-year-old battlefield hits home just how lucky we are today. Its a packed schedule for us next week as we travel through Barcelona and Monte Carlo before arriving to Italy to take on the local side there. But tomorrow should be a really fun day for all of us as were going to Euro Disneyland. Follow NSWRL.com.au for all the latest on the once-in-a-lifetime journey. The NSWRLs KARI Indigenous Young Achievers side is safe in France. The side is currently in Perpignan and has avoided the attacks in Paris. We appreciate the kind words.

06.01.2022 Today was a long day but very enjoyable for all the boys, after breakfast the boys had a training session in preparation for tonights two games, it was a sharp session and the boys were totally switched on. At 1200 the boys joined the staff at our acconodation in observing a national minute of silence in memory of the people who lost their lifes with the attacks on Paris. After lunch the boys just relaxed in preparation for the upcoming games.... Team deadly played the Catalan Dragons Academy and won 24-16 the score flattered the opposition as we played basically the entire match with 11 men due to send offs. The players player was Tyson Hodge In game 2 we played a National French Selection team, once again they looked an older team but our boys played a great game and won 30-20. Players player was Stephen Blair We have a stack of photos but it wont allow us to load, but we are working on it Thanks Perry

03.01.2022 My Diary Part 2 | Young Achievers Tour Mon 16th November, 09:00AM IMG_0171 Writing from the opposite side of the world, 16-year-old Tyson Hodge, opens up on an emotional experience as the Indigenous Young Achievers Tour continues in France.... The last few days have seen some tremendous highs and terrible lows. Its weird when youre on holiday enjoying your time away but then there are mixed feelings about the situation in Paris and how sad it is. Attending Euro Disney was a great moment for me. All my life I have always wanted to go to Disneyland and to finally experience that was a dream come true. To share that with the boys was incredible, and I know they really had a great time too. When we left Paris to travel to Perpignan, we travelled on the fast train that hit speeds of over 300 kmph! Sitting on the train with the boys for over five hours, laughing and joking with the boys was a highlight. Its funny how some of the most memorable experiences of the trip are in those ordinary moments when the team is just passing time, or at breakfast or when hanging out at the hotel. Waking up to the news of the people murdered in Paris was heartbreaking. To think we were walking the streets only a few hours earlier is a feeling that will stay with me for a very long time. Thats a feeling thats very hard to shake and my heart goes out to everyone in France right now. Follow NSWRL.com.au for all the latest on the once-in-a-lifetime journey. The NSWRLs KARI Indigenous Young Achievers side is safe in Perpignan, France. The side is currently in Perpignan and has avoided the attacks in Paris. 02.01.2022 Making the long trip around the world from Wagga Wagga to Europe, 16-year-old Tyson Hodge reflects on his adventure of a lifetime, representing the Indigenous Young Achievers side touring France and Italy. Spending time at the Australian Institute of Sport-European Centre was a highlight thus far. I want to make it to the NRL one day. Seeing the facilities that the elite players can train with is something to aim for. I have learnt about recovery after games and training by... using the facilities. Visiting Lake Como and walking around the foreshore and seeing some impressive boats was great. I feel very fortunate to be on this trip with my brother Cody and family. These are moments that we will look back on in years to come with fond memories. Walking around Rome today and looking at buildings thousands of years old is pretty mind blowing. I cant wait to go to the Colosseum tomorrow the movie Gladiator is one of my favourites and I cant wait to stand there and look down on the same arena as all the Caesars have done. Writing from the opposite side of the world, 16-year-old Tyson Hodge, disects his teams performances and shares on a once-in-a-lifetime experience as the KARI-backed Indigenous Young Achievers Tour continues in France. ... Game One v Paris This game from the start was very one sided. Our boys controlled the tempo and shut our opposition out. To their credit, they didnt give up. Our halves Josh and Kane guided our team around the park very effectively which allowed our middle forwards to suck in the defence and gave our outside backs plenty of room to work their magic. Man of the match was Jaylen Rose. Game Two Test Match This was a very physical encounter between a French National Select team and the Black Kangaroos. The French team tried to physically outmuscle our team, but our boys, led by Heath Gibbs, stood tall and firm. With 10 minutes to go, our team was tied 16-all, and the boys went to a higher level that the opposition couldnt match as we scored 14 unanswered points. Man of the match went to a deserving Heath Gibbs. The last two days have been a blur. Firstly, visiting the Papal City of Avingnon to playing football and winning the players player award was a great honour. Having to play two games in three days was hard but enjoyable. To score a few tries was a bonus. The opposition was very physical but I love that style of footy. European culture is something to be seen. Its hard to describe the feeling unless youve had the priviledge of travelling there. The city was interesting; the history of the Popes having lived there thousands of years ago was fascinating. The fortress around the town was incredible its hard to imagine trying to invade a fortress like the one they had. Walking through the side streets with all the shops is very different to Wagga Wagga. This trip has been so much more than I coould ever imagine and I am thrilled to see what happens next for the rest of our trip.
