24.01.2022 Section 40e Pages Updated I have updated the Section 40e Pages today for those who might want to know more about what it is: https://www.gold-prospecting-wa.com/section-40e-permit.html... This is Lesson 16 in the GeoMap Online training program and it is repeated on the Gold Prospecting WA website to assist those who do not have access to our online GeoMap Training website. It is important to understand the Section 40e Permit system because much of Western Australia is taken up by Mining Companies with Granted Exploration Leases. You CANNOT go prospecting on those leases without written permission OR a Section 40E Permit approval. The Permits are simple to get and give you access to around 46 percent of potential gold bearing ground on EXPLORATION (E) leases in WA legally and with little cost. The cost for a Section 40e permit HAS been increased to $90 so it is more expensive but you can include 3 people on the application, so that helps a bit....Bill

17.01.2022 Just relating to our last post about permission to detect on our Mining Leases and some suggestions relating to accessing other land. You can now apply for a Section 40e "Permit to Prospect on A Granted Exploration Lease" Again. ... If you are not sure what a Section 40e Permit is here is the DMIRS page relating to that. http://www.dmp.wa.gov.au//Permit-Section-40E-over-granted-: ==> http://www.dmp.wa.gov.au//Permit-Section-40E-over-granted- This is from the DMIRS Website in Mineral Titles Online - where you can apply for a Section 40e permit online; "Please Note - Changes to Online Transactions effective immediately "The State Government announced on 10 May 2020 the implementation of phase 2 of its Roadmap to Recovery from the COVID-19 Pandemic, which includes the relaxing of regional travel restrictions effective from 18 May 2020. Application for 40e permits online has now been re-enabled. Should you wish to lodge documents or correspondence in relation to a mining tenement where you are unable to do so at a departmental office, and: Lodgement of the type of document is not provided for in the exiting Online Transactions options, Or you encounter an issue with an existing option, then please attach your document using the ( ) facility located in the Lodge a Document for a Tenement section. If you require further assistance please contact Mineral Titles Online support on (08) 9222 3030 during standard business hours (AWST) or via email to [email protected] ==> mailto:[email protected] " . I guess it also a matter of when the risk averse government we have in WA is going to open up the Intrastate borders as well.....Bill

We have been reviewing and re-witing pages on the Gold Prospecting WA Website now that we have some time available. 14.01.2022 - We have two leases one is a very small mining lease that we used for seminars but now we dont allow any detecting on it at all, basically because of abuse of the privilege by some people. There is not much there for the Metal detectorist now anyway. The other is an exploration lease that is subject to agreement with a third party and we cannot allow anyone on it because of pending agreements so cant help you there sorry.... That is not to say you cannot access granted leases, have a look at this page. https://www.gold-prospecting-wa.com/metal-detecting-permiss: ==> https://www.gold-prospecting-wa.com/metal-detecting-permiss Just remember that right now mining companies would be a bit reluctant to let people on their leases due the Corona virus thing and safety reasons so it might be difficult to get approvals now. You would be better off applying for a Section 40e or target unpegged or pending land, there is plenty out there to go to. I will put up another post of Section 40e "Application for Permit to Prospect on Exploration Leases" shortly ..... Bill

03.01.2022 Gidday all I have just sent a newsletter to our Gold Prospecting subscribers. The subject Headings:... - What is it Worth to You to Protect your Gold Prospecting Heritage?. - Link to Gold Prospecting Value Survey - What is the Gold Prospecting survey about?. - Corona Virus WA Travel Update Pages. The Key points; "This is a quick newsletter about a (critical) survey on Recreational prospecting and metal detecting in WA. You may not have received a copy of this request for a survey on Recreational Metal Detecting and Gold Prospecting by Minelab. It has been sent to APLA members and maybe those on the Minelab mailing list, I have included a link to it for you because it is a very important and long overdue process. Why is it Important? - This government has no idea of the value of recreational prospecting to Western Australia. - Green, Blue and Red tape is continually choking the ability to go Prospecting in WA -The government needs to understand the economic and social value of Prospecting in WA . - Just like the impact of Recreational Fishing in WA, the Government had NO IDEA of the economic and social value of fishers - this survey will show them the value of recreational Prospectors, tourism and to regional towns in WA. - Prospecting is our Cultural Heritage and ingrained into the Australian Psyche - the Government needs to understand this and promote it, NOT continue to interfere with the ability of people to go Gold Prospecting If you want to protect YOUR right to go metal detecting and prospecting in WA (and Australia) in the future, fill the survey in so the Government can understand the value to us, the prospector, the economy of WA and to regional tourism in the goldfields of WA. If you haven't done this survey here is a link to it https://actionsurveys.com.au/index.php/336687

02.01.2022 . Under Covid Restrictions for Biosecurity reasons from 20/05/2020 Section 40e’s will not include areas that are File Notation Areas (FNA’s) or Aboriginal Corporation Leased Stations. This is to protect vulnerable people from getting Covid 19 basically what it means is although you can travel through most of WA from 29/...5/2020 some land is not accessible. Also if you want to apply for a Section 40e (Permit to prospect on granted Exploration Lease Land) then it will not be granted over the FNA’s or the 63 Pastoral Lease Stations that are leased by the Government for Aboriginal Corporations. It is unsure how long this restriction will be in place but here is how you find those areas on Tengraph Web. There is a video on how to find those places in Tengraph Web and more information on this page. https://geomap-training-wa.com/blog/
