24.01.2022 Bellingen 221 Open day station tour

22.01.2022 Tonight we show you what to do if your food catches fire while cooking.

21.01.2022 Very sad for the people losing there home. Thanks also the 257 coffs harbour for responding with their hazmat for BA (breathing apparatus) and ensuing the fire fighters were safe.

20.01.2022 At 15:29 hours on Monday 4th May Kingscliff Fire Station responded reports of a building fire at the Cudgen Leagues Club, Kingscliff. Fire and Rescue NSW Statio...n 347 Kingscliff arrived first on scene and were confronted with a well developed fire in the front of the building and sent a red message (most urgent of radio messages). Firefighters in breathing apparatus commenced defensive firefighting operations (defensive is when firefighters attack fire from the outside). Shortly after Fire and Rescue NSW Station 468 Tweed Heads & Fire and Rescue NSW Station 514 Banora Point arrived on scene and also commenced firefighting operations. Once power had been isolated to the building by the energy company firefighters entered the building to attack the fire on the ground floor. Shortly after exclusion zones were set due to signs of potential structure collapse and firefighters were withdrawn from the building and tasked for defensive firefighting only. Firefighters carried out a force door entry up stairs and were able to safely enter part of the top floor of the club house to contain the fire back to the middle of the building. An aerial appliance and pumper from Queensland Fire and Emergency Services - QFES arrived on scene. The aerial capabilities assisted in extinguishing the fire in the roof and upper level of the building. Firefighters were then able to safely enter the building and extinguish hot spots. Over 30 firefighters fought the fire and gave their upmost best effort to try and save what they could. Thankfully no injuries occurred and all firefighters are safe and well. There are no reports of persons being inside the premises and investigations will be ongoing. Also attending: Tweed-Byron Police District NSW Ambulance Tweed Shire Council Fire & Rescue Regional North 2 & Duty Commander. Fire and Rescue NSW Station 221 Bellingen rehab. Thank you to: Fire and Rescue NSW Station 240 Brunswick Heads and Fire and Rescue NSW Station 213 Bangalow for standing by at our stations during this time.

20.01.2022 Big thanks to the whole town for getting behind your local FRNSW station and donating old cars for us to have a training weekend on Road Accident Rescue. Here is a list of people to give a pat on the back, without their support we wouldn’t be able to train and provide such an important service to the community. An extra special thanks to Wes Tutt for picking up all the cars, moving them for us and providing the location for us to train. Have a safe a merry Christmas from all ...of us at 221 Wes Tutt Lyle Condon Andrew Perrot Colin from Northside Auto Michael Lovering from M & K Automotive Loyd Bush Bruce & Ivan Rose from Bellingen Valley Motors

17.01.2022 Gladstone Fire and Rescue Service Station has a new tool on its Alpha and Kilo appliances, and it’s not a hose! The station is now trialling autism sensory trau...ma kits specifically designed to help firefighters communicate with people with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) or other communication difficulties during an emergency situation. Firefighter Jonathan Sutton was the driver behind the initiative and said each kit contained visual and hearing protection, sensory objects and communication boards. Having these kits on the truck can help us calm people down if they are experiencing distress from the situation. It also prompts us to think about whether anyone around is showing signs they might need some extra help or might be at risk. It’s something that’s very easy but helps us do our job better by serving the community better. It helps us to consider people who have specific needs or who might otherwise be overlooked," Jonathan said. A big shout out to Autism Queensland for its assistance in developing the kits! #WorldAutismAwarenessDay

At the moment we are looking for any old cars you no longer want and would like to donate. We would love to take them off your hands so we can cut them up. If you have any you want to part with let us know and we will arrange it to be removed.
