For people in Illawarra, Central Tablelands, Southern Tablelands, South West Slopes, Australian Capital Territory and parts of Northern Rivers, Mid North Coast, Metropolitan, South Coast, Central West Slopes and Plains, Snowy Mountains and Northern Tablelands Forecast Districts. A trough of low pressure is combining with an upper-level disturbance to generate unsettled conditions across eastern and southern NSW. Severe thunderstorms are likely to produce damaging winds and heavy rainfall that may lead to flash flooding in the warning area over the next several hours. Locations which may be affected include Grafton, Coffs Harbour, Port Macquarie, Wollongong, Nowra, Batemans Bay, Orange, Canberra and Goulburn. Severe thunderstorms are no longer occurring in the Riverina and Lower Western districts and the warning for these districts is CANCELLED. 14.2mm of rainfall recorded at Goonumbla in the 15 minutes to 3:35pm. 42mm of rainfall recorded at Tumbarumba in the 1 hour to 4:15pm. 48kt (89 km/h) gust at Armidale at 5:54pm. 12.01.2022 We are experiencing the 'summer storm' season early this year with thunderstorms impacting the Blue Mountains on several occasions far this month. Volunteers of the NSW SES Blue Mountains Unit attended a tree that came down on a property causing damage to the roof at Springwood yesterday.
