We tried our best to get this video up on Thursday night / Friday for you but we are busy bodies in ISO world because we love to read and make and create anything and everything !... technology is not always our friend I must admit haha.... we slapped this together! Its no bells and whistles but Its co produced by 6 year old River. 18.01.2022 This long weekend while Dez was off At the Whats on 4 Kids Awards in QLD. The Lovely Renae ( The girl in the dinosaur suit ) took the Reigns and took Daisy and a DINOmyte bunch of therapeutic activities to @brakethepsychols annual touch tournament fundraising event. This organisation are very close to our heart and do an amazing job at supporting the community with the affects and challenges suicide bring to or community. This event is organised and run by youth for youth and... we love everything they are about . Its the first time Dez left things in someone else hands but knew that Brake The Psychol would go out of their way to ensure you our staff are safe and have fun. Sometimes we arent just for the little kids and we love that! Look through the photos because you will find Mini Dez( Dezs Neice) right among the puppet making action. 18.01.2022 Hey guys ! Some of you may not know this but not only am really good at getting kids to wiggle their tail and stomp their feet but Im also a mental health worker and drama teacher, Ive put together a simple drama programme suitable for all children. There is so much that goes into creating a piece of simple drama, with so much room for expression and creativity from anyone and everyone, so why cant the kids that dont like the limelight or suffer from anxiety or non verb...al not be a part of it too ? This is a very relaxed but important approach to drama our community needs. If a young one wants to hold a torch to be the lighting guy or gal they can, if they want to make flowers out of cupcake paddy pans for the garden their devised piece is set in they can, if they want to make a face out of a paper plate and hold it in front of their face just so they feel comfortable on stage they can! Even though DEZinodrama has a structure its designed to allow kids to tell their stories together, to work their way in a team environment, to let their DINOSAUR sized imaginations flourish and to simply have FUN ! 16.01.2022 ROAR! What did you guys get up to these holidays ? I was very lucky enough to facilitate a DEZinoDrama Worksop at the Womens Health and Family services. ... The beauty about DEZinoDrama is that its a holistic approach and as a group we create everything together ! I had no idea that I would be taken to the ocean with a tiger, a polar bear, a dinosaur, a crocodile with treasure, being attacked by a giant seaweed monster !!! The children, of all ages and some parents wrote the scene, made the characters, props and set all@our of directed and produced a peice of theatre (all out of recycled materials), THEIR theatre piece and boy were they proud !.... this is why I love DEZinoDrama ! 13.01.2022 Dez will be off to the Whats on 4 kids awards this weekend but Daisy will be delighting the crowds with her hugs, high 5s and fist pumps one again and when Daisy is resting youll find the Lovely Renae in the Kid zone hosting a sock puppet making workshop for all the youth! This event is an annual touch tournament organised by youth for youth, aimed to raise awareness and funds for suicide support and prevention. I may not have taken home an award and lost one of my dinosaurs in a prehistoric version of Cinderella but I what I did take home were new friends from all over Australia, new connections, new energy, new education, new experiences and motivation because boy oh boy did WA bring it home this year ! I am so proud to them all especially the ones Ive watched grow since River my 5 year old was ...born.
