23.01.2022 Prophesy to the Bones Within Us Gloria Watkins Intention We must declare life to that which is deadbeginning with ourselves and all across our nation.... Scripture The hand of the Lord was on me, and he brought me out by the Spirit of the Lord and set me in the middle of a valley; it was full of bones. He led me back and forth among them, and I saw a great many bones on the floor of the valley, bones that were very dry. He asked me, ‘Son of man, can these bones live?’ I said, ‘Sovereign Lord, you alone know.’ Then he said to me, ‘Prophesy to these bones and say to them, ‘Dry bones, hear the word of the Lord! This is what the Sovereign Lord says to these bones: I will make breath enter you, and you will come to life. I will attach tendons to you and make flesh come upon you and cover you with skin; I will put breath in you, and you will come to life. Then you will know that I am the Lord.’’Ezekiel 37:1-6 Reflection From March of 2020, there were 26 deaths in my family. This has brought great grief to us all, but God is greater than the grief. I have been called not to focus on death, but to start speaking life and calling for the dry bones to live again. In September and October of this year, I received four powerful words from the Holy Spirit. During that time, I lost a son-in-law in the Kimberley to suicide, but I know my Father in Heaven has a great plan in that for the greater good. Following this, I was heavily involved in the National Solemn Assembly, which was a time of great inspiration and encouragement. God carries us out by His Spirit to do His works. In Ezekiel, God speaks about the dry bones. There were so many dry bones in this valley. This reminds me of the dry bones within us and around us. These bones represent not just the house of Israel, but all of us. First, that which he had to say to them was that God would infallibly raise them to life: Thus, saith the Lord God unto these bones, you shall live (v. 5). And again: He that speaks the word will thereby do the work; he that says, ‘They shall live,’ will make them alive: He will clothe them with skin and flesh (v. 6). In other words, God will restore these dry bones in the same way that he originally made them at creation: You clothe me with skin and flesh and knit me together with bones and sinews (Job 10:11). Even with flesh covering bones, it’s possible for people to still not be fully alive. God has given us the authority to speak to and call up the bones within our community, our Government, and our countrythis Great South Land of the Holy Spirit. Let us become whole again. As it says in 2 Chronicles 7:14, If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land. We are now needing to speak into the dry bones so that our Father in heaven can heal the land. Prayer Father, I come in the name of Jesus, therefore I am blessed according to Your Word in Psalm 118. I speak into my body, the atmosphere, my city, my state, and my country that all dry bones shall live; that the Holy Spirit might give life to everything around me and beyond. Father, hear from heaven and start the healing. I decree and declare this in Your holy name. Amen. Video https://youtu.be/-qZGpQz6MeM Dry Bones Come Alive Prayer Points for October 2020 1. 22.01.2022 An End to Abortion Warwick Marsh Intention Abortion is perhaps the greatest moral issue of our time. Prayer is the greatest responseand God will end abortion!... Scripture There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus, who do not walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit. For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has made me free from the law of sin and death. For what the law could not do in that it was weak through the flesh, God did by sending His own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, on account of sin: He condemned sin in the flesh, that the righteous requirement of the law might be fulfilled in us who do not walk according to the flesh but according to the Spirit. Romans 8:1-4 Reflection In late 1984, I attended a screening of Silent Scream, a documentary about abortion narrated by Bernard Nathanson. Dr Nathanson was the co-founder of ‘Repeal of Abortion Laws’, founded in 1969. Previous to this, he had been a prominent abortionist who began to have second thoughts about abortion. In 1974, Nathanson wrote, I am deeply troubled by my own increasing certainty that I had presided over 60,000 deaths. He later wrote, Abortion is the most atrocious holocaust in the history of the United States. Silent Scream ripped my heart out. I can distinctly remember feeling physically sick watching a live abortion by ultrasound. After the movie, I drove up the mountain and stumbled around in the darkness in the bush crying for what seemed like hours. To say that this movie impacted me was an understatement. A few years later, I wrote a driving rock song inspired by a Black Sabbath riff called ‘Don’t Kill the Children’. It became the title track of my first contemporary Christian music album. Don’t kill whales Don’t kill trees Don’t kill seals But most of all Don’t kill the children They were born to live not die Light does not get in their eyes A man in white takes their life Before they have a chance to live The Silent Scream, cemented by the above song, became the turning point of my life when it came to the issue of abortion. I would gladly give my life up tomorrow if I could stop the abortion of the 100,000 children who are murdered each year here in Australia. The good news is that Jesus Christ has already given his life up for this iniquity. The Scripture says in Mathew 20:28, He gave up his life as a ransom for many. Jesus bore the murder of all the babies that are killed in the world each year in His own body on the cross. In 2 Corinthians 5:21 we read, For He made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him. Not only that, but Jesus came as the source of LIFE. The Scripture says in John 10:10, The thief comes only that he might steal and might kill and might destroy. I came that they may have life and may have it abundantly. Many of us have been praying and fasting for the last 30 days for a breakthrough for life. Many have also joined us night after night as we celebrate communion on our Zoom prayer call, where we eat the bread and drink the wine as Jesus commanded us to do. In a sense, as we have been fasting and praying and having communion, we are joining in a prayer of intercession with Jesus in His death on the cross. Ps Margaret Court calls this praying through the cross of Christ. This, I believe, is the most powerful form of prayer possible. There is no greater message than Christ and Him crucified. There is no greater prayer than, Father forgive them for they know not what they do. No horror, no injustice, no sin is a match for the blood of Christ. Together we are praying for a greater law to take over from the law of sin and death. That is the law of the Spirit of Life in Christ Jesus. Together, we are praying for an end to abortion in our nation. Surely, because of God’s grace in Christ, it will happen! Prayer Father in Heaven, do what cannot be done by human hands. Do what can only be done through Your Son’s blood on the cross. As Paul said, Where, O death, is your victory? Where, O death, is your sting? Bring an end to abortion in Jesus’ name. Amen! 20.01.2022 "As we engage with the Lord, He has given us all we need, and we are in a position to bring the fullness of the good news and life to this nation."
20.01.2022 Praying for Government Teeshan Johnson Intention We must pray for government, because we get the government we pray for.... Scripture Therefore I exhort first of all that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks be made for all men, for kings and all who are in authority, that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and reverence. For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Saviour, who desires all men to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth. 1 Timothy 2:1-4 Reflection Praying for all in authority including the government is a direct instruction in Scripture. It’s something that we as believers should be doing regularly. A dear elderly lady who attended my church many years once looked at me very intensely in the eyes and said, We get the government we pray for. I knew it was the truth and it was kind of a life changing moment for me. If Christians really raise a standard in prayer and supplication to the Lord for a righteous government, we will see that manifesthopefully sooner rather than later. This Scripture also tells us the reason God wants us to pray for all in authority, because He wants us and His church to be able to live a quiet and peaceable life so that people can be saved by coming to a knowledge of Jesus. So does this mean when we have good and godly people in authority it’s the best environment for people to get saved? Yes, that’s exactly what it means! So many Christians pray for revival (and for people to be saved) including myself, but much fewer pray this Scripture regularly. But we should be praying it: it is a key to establishing a righteous Australia, USA and NZ; for nations that are ripe for harvesting. Prayer Lord, I pray for all in authority as Your Word says, that we, your church, may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness. Thank you, Lord, that it is Your will that none should perish and come to a knowledge of You, so I pray that everyone in authority comes to a knowledge of You, along with their families too. We pray the same for everyone in Australia, that this nation would truly become the Great Southland of the Holy Spirit. Lord, Your Word says that righteousness exalts a nation but sin is a reproach to any people (Proverbs 14:34). We ask for a righteous government in Queensland, the USA, NZ and the ACT and all the other states around Australia. Protect President Trump and all other politicians, church leaders and governmental leaders who uphold human life and Your ways. Lord, thank You that Your Word says that exaltation comes from you (Psalm 75:6), and that you give grace to the humble but you oppose the proud (1 Peter 5:5). I ask you to bring low and remove from government those who are enemies of life and who hate You and Your ways. Send confusion to the enemy camp (Exodus 23:27). I ask for promotion for those who love You and Your ways. I ask for a righteous government. I ask for Your favour and protection over those who stand for life (against both abortion and euthanasia), that they will legislate accordingly to Your ways. Lord, please give us the government that is fitting for the King of kings, your beautiful son Jesus. May Australia, the USA and NZ be sheep (and not goat) nations. In Jesus’ holy name we pray. Amen. 19.01.2022 God’s Love Brings Hope and Life Lynore K. Geia Intention God’s love replaces hopelessness with hope, and death with lifeand this is a beautiful promise for Aus...tralia’s First Nations people. Scripture But Jesus needed to go through Samaria. He came to a city of Samaria called Sychar, near the plot of ground that Jacob gave to his son Joseph. Now Jacob’s well was there. Jesus therefore, being wearied from His journey, sat thus by the well. It was about the sixth hour. A woman of Samaria came to draw water. Jesus said to her, ‘Give Me a drink.’ For His disciples had gone away into the city to buy food. Then the woman of Samaria said to Him, ‘How is it that You, being a Jew, ask a drink from me, a Samaritan woman?’ For Jews have no dealings with Samaritans. Jesus answered and said to her, ‘If you knew the gift of God, and who it is who says to you, ‘Give Me a drink,’ you would have asked Him, and He would have given you living water.'John 4:4-10 Reflection The Samaritans were a people of mixed Jewish and non-Jewish heritage: they were a rejected people living in the land of their forefathers. They were despised by the Jews who avoided any kind of contact with Samaritans if they could; they were racially and spiritually rejected. The Samaritans lived knowing they were hated by the Jews (God’s chosen people), but they also lived in waiting for redemption from the Messiah. But God knew who the Samaritans were. Jesus saw this woman from a long way off. He knew that she would go to the well in the heat of the day to draw water, so that she could avoid the talk and stares of others who judged her because of her lifestyle. I would also suggest that in her alone time at the well, the woman allowed her thoughts to dwell on freedom from her pain, and when it was that the Messiah was coming. Little did she know that Messiah was waiting to meet her at the well. In this story, God touched her heart. She had once felt hopeless and rejected, but Jesus simply knew the truth as she did. His love and His word spoke deeply into her heart without judgment, and this brought hope and acceptance. The Scripture above tells us that Jesus needed to go through Samaria. He made the decision to go to Sychar; He knew that the Samaritans needed to meet Him and experience the love of God that was available to them. The ‘agape’ love of God breaks through chronos and kairos. In the heat of the day, when others avoided going out, Jesus came at the appointed time for the Samaritan woman at the well. Jesus spoke His truth into her lived experience, and Jesus’s truth set her free. But the story does not end at the well. When the woman heard God’s truth, she shared it with her people. Her story ends in hope for many others who obtained freedom; verses 39-41 reveal that many of the Samaritans of that city believed in Him because of the word of the woman who testified, ‘He told me all that I ever did’. So when the Samaritans had come to Him, they urged Him to stay with them; and He stayed there two days. And many more believed because of His own word. God broke through! But God are two profound words that shout out the power of the love of God in any situation. These two words bring a profound meaning that God’s agape love can turn nothing into something; bring acceptance from rejection; bring those who feel unloved to one who is beloved by God. Prayer Father, through the cross we received the greatest eternally lasting, unfathomable act of love that is available for all people. Your love does not discriminate. Father, we believe that You have unfinished business in Australia. Lord, we pray for healing to be poured out in the lives of Australia’s First Peoplesthe Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people. Father, empower us to carry and impart God’s love through our word and deeds, so that we can break the darkness of rejection and bring Your truth of acceptance. Lord we pray, open our hearts to share your Word and love, just like the Samaritan woman did to her people. We want to bring Your hope and love to Australia’s First Nations people. Lord, may they have a night-to-day experiencefrom rejected to accepted; from death to life. We pray and speak life over Australia’s First Peoples, and life abundantly. In Jesus’ name. Amen. 19.01.2022 "An illness (maybe even terminal), or a pregnancy, or a trauma can throw us a long way from the course we had planned. It can feel soul-destroying to work hard ...on something whether a business, an education, a home only to feel like your hopes have been smashed. Sometimes they really have been. Fortunately, we don’t have to prove that we’re good enough for God: He already loves us. We don’t have to prove that we have enough value to keep around He knew all of your worth before you were born. When the world around us can’t see it, our Creator knows us completely. He knew this would happen, and He yet has things for us to do." See more

18.01.2022 Reflections on the National Solemn Assembly By Dr Graham McLennan National Alliance of Christian Leaders... Having been involved in the Washington for Jesus Rally in the US in 1980, it inspired us to do something similar in Australia. As a result we joined others in the National Gathering of 1988 in Canberra when our PM at the time Bob Hawke was reluctant to open the New Parliament House with prayer. Forty years later in Washington DC last Saturday the Return Rally as well as Franklin Graham BGEA Prayer March was attended by tens of thousands and watched by millions. And on the same date it was great to see a new dimension in Australia with the Indigenous National Solemn Assembly with several thousand joined together by zoom. Indigenous people from all over Australia came together in a truly remarkable event facilitated by the National Day of Prayer and Fasting team and the National Council of Churches with Indigenous Pastor Peter Walker and other pastors such as Pastor Tim Edwards, Rob Knight, Norman Miller, Robyn (Green) and her husband Anthony Beazley, Rodney Minniecon and Rodney Rivers. One of their major concerns was the alarming rate of suicide particularly among younger people. Tragically one of the prayer warriors lost her son-in-law just days before the Assembly began. Suicide is now the highest cause of death among young Australians. It is interesting that the fear of the spirit of death was the reason preventing the Hindu Buddhists from settling Australia. Two other major groups were coming south as well, including the Muslims who feared the spirit of Antichrist who they called Dedjdal. The other group were the Chinese who feared a kingdom of women! (A History of Australia C.M.H. Clark Vol 1 pages 5-9 MUP) Pastor Peter Walker spoke about the swallow mentioned in Psalm 84:3 which is a migratory bird, noting the difference to the sparrow also mentioned in the same verse. It is also interesting that on the previous page 4 of the book by Manning Clark just mentioned there were at least three major migrations prior to the Aborigines, that of the Negritos, Carpentarians and Murrayians. Let’s not kid ourselves that the present migration won't be the last one as we learn from history about the rise and fall of nations. Among the many touching moments during the weekend, I found the Indigenous woman from Western Australia praying with her children kneeling to the ground laying their hands on the dusty earth pleading for the healing of the land, a truly sacred moment. To quote Ps Peter Walker who found it hard to highlight the many cries of the: "We're believing for a breakthrough in the nation. Already we hear testimonies of women who have been healed and young Indigenous coming to the Lord". The fervency of the prayers especially from the "weeping women of the desert", who could remember the wave of revival changing lives from the Elcho Island revival in the 70's as it moved south into Arnhem Land in the Top End and beyond. Dr Lynore Geia, a Torres Strait Islander woman born and raised on Palm Island, a nursing and midwifery academic, pleaded for renewal and the restoration of family. It brought real joy to those such as National Solemn Assembly participants such as Dan Armstrong and John Blacket who have longed to see the fruition of these prayers. Certainly, this time was a landmark in spiritual terms as we shared Communion together many times, hoping for a breakthrough in the heavenly realm, the ripple becoming a wave, the wave turning into a tsunami! The National Solemn Assembly has been recorded with the Indigenous people sharing their dreams and aspirations for their families and country. SOLEMN ASSEMBLY PRAYER By Peter Walker 1. Father, I bring repentance before you for the sins and transgressions of my forebears. 2. I repent for the sins of idolatry, sorcery, necromancy, fornication, adultery, magic, divination, occultism, witchcraft, bloodshed, slavery, sexual perversion, injustice, oppression of the poor and the helpless, rebellion and evil dedications. Father forgive and cleanse us from these abominations through the Blood of Jesus Christ. 3. Father, I also repent for my direct or indirect participation and involvement in these sins. Forgive me, O Lord. 4. I receive a complete cleansing from all contaminations arising from these abominations in Jesus Name. 5. Right now, I send the Blood of Jesus to visit my roots and foundations and dissolve all satanic covenants, tokens and pacts, oaths, allegiances, and agreements associated with them. 6. Lord I repent of any broken covenants, and oaths I may have entered into knowingly, and unknowingly. 7. I render impotent and ineffective any covenants made on my behalf at any evil altar in Jesus Name. 8. We ask for forgiveness for not being the stewards of the land that he has called us to be and allowing defilement over the land. 9. Lord thank you for your great mercy that will avail for myself, my family members, and the nation through the Cross of Jesus Christ. DECLARATION By Rob Knight I declare and decree that the National Solemn Assembly will deliver its God given mandate of uniting the Body of Christ to cause a reformation in Australia. This Godly reformation will start a move of God that will bring a shift in righteous God given mountain moving authority around the world. Amen!!
16.01.2022 Caring for New Life Jean Seah Intention God entrusts us with an amazing responsibility: the care of new life. May our communities learn to value and nourish eac...h person, especially pregnant mothers and the children they carry. Scripture The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full. John 10:10 Reflection Jesus Christ, the Son of the Living God, to Whom all honour and glory is due, emptied Himself (kenosis), taking the form of a human being, in order to reconcile us with God and redeem us through His sacrifice on the cross (Philippians 2:7). He loved us so much that, although He is infinitely greater than us, He reduced Himself to the form of a helpless baby, dependent on Mary and Joseph to care for Him and protect Him from King Herod's merciless soldiers, who sought to destroy Him as an infant (Matthew 2:13). Even when He was in the womb, Jesus’ mere presence made His pre-born cousin John the Baptist leap for joy (Luke 1:44), and his aunt Elizabeth uttered a Spirit-filled salutation to his mother Mary: Blessed art thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb. But why am I so favoured, that the mother of my Lord should come to me? (Luke 1:42-43). By the grace of the Holy Spirit, Elizabeth recognised in that seemingly ordinary visit of her young cousin, that God Incarnate had come to her home, along with the woman chosen to be His mother. Though pregnant herself, Mary had immediately travelled from Nazareth to Judah, to her cousin Elizabeth, upon hearing from the Archangel Gabriel that she too was pregnanta miracle given her old age (Luke 1:36). She knew that Elizabeth would need support, especially in her third trimester. That was a journey of at least 163 kilometres; a slow and arduous trek before modern transport. Yet, out of love and concern for her aged cousin, Mary went out of her way to care for her. In today's globalised world, with many people living far apart from their family members, it can be very difficult for a pregnant mother to cope with the immense transformation in her life, lacking traditional familial supports. Moreover, with government policies subsidising childcare centres but not stay-at-home mothers, and the modern Western expectation that mothers return to paid work as soon as possible after giving birth, babies and mothers are often pulled apart just when they need each other most, in this vulnerable, beautiful season of new life. Worse, with the advent of modern medical technology, the increasing use of contraception (which results in the risk compensation effect, as demonstrated by Harvard researcher Edward C. Green), and new laws legalising abortion, those in the womb are more likely than ever to be ripped away from their mothers before they even see the light of day. Fetus is simply Latin for young, offspring. Our lawmakers and physicians are enabling the wholesale destruction of our offspring within their mothers’ wombs, the place where they ought to be safest in the world. This, in spite of ultrasounds confirming what people have known for generations: the child in the womb is a living, unique human being with a heart which starts beating from 16 days after conception (according to Oxford). May we all learn to recognise and respect the image of Godthat is, Lovein each pre-born child, that they may be blessed with life to the full, and have the chance to know, love and serve God among their fellow men. Prayer Father, we beseech You to save our pre-born brothers and sisters from those who seek to steal their lives, kill them and destroy their tiny bodies before they have the chance to be born. We pray for pregnant mothers under stress, convinced that they have no way forward except to abort their children. We pray for parents, grandparents, siblings and relatives who have lost members of their family to abortion. May their wounds heal. Allow them to receive love and life into their hearts. We pray for legislators to be anointed with wisdom and compassion for the most vulnerable humans in their jurisdictions; we pray for those involved with abortions to repent and turn from their ways. We call upon the Holy Spirit to open their eyes to the glorious humanity of each pre-born child, and we pray that You, Lord, the Giver of Life, will shepherd Your children safely beyond the reach of the destroyer, the Father of Lies, who plants the big whopping lie that abortions are a safe and necessary medical procedure. O God, we entrust to You our nation of Australia, that every child may be born safely; that parents may be free of any sexism, selfishness or fear which leads them to contemplate destroying their own children. We pray for those providing support and care for mothers with crisis pregnancies, and mothers who may be refugees, migrants or fleeing domestic violence. May they be strengthened by Your love and given the grace to continue their work despite all challenges. Thank You, God, for the precious gift of life, and for making it possible for us to share eternal life with You. Amen. 14.01.2022 Listen to the Voice of True Justice Ann Browne Intention It is time for us to listen to the voice of God, the just judge, and to take action on behalf of the de...fenceless. Scripture All rise! For God now comes to judge as he convenes heaven’s courtroom. He judges every judge and rules over every ruler, saying, How long will you judges refuse to listen to the voice of true justice and continue to corrupt what is right by judging in favour of the wrong? Pause in his presence. Defend the defenceless, the fatherless and the forgotten, the disenfranchised and the destitute. Your duty is to deliver the poor and the powerless; liberate them from the grasp of the wicked. But you continue in your darkness and ignorance while the foundations of society are shaken to the core! Didn’t I commission you as judges, saying, ‘You are all like gods, since you judge on my behalf. You are all like sons of the Most High, my representatives.’ Nevertheless, in death you are nothing but mere men! You will be laid in the ground like any prince and you will die. All rise! For God now takes his place as judge of all the earth. Don’t you know that everything and everyone belongs to him? The nations will be sifted in his hands! Psalm 82:1-8 Reflection The Lord is asking those who have been given authority to judge and rule, to listen to the voice of true justice. We as His church and all who are given authority are required by the Lord to defend, liberate and represent His Justice. May we join the Lord in praying Psalm 82:1-8 (above) that we have true justice for the defenceless babies in the womb and the elderly and suffering ones. They are excluded from justice in the abortion and euthanasia bills and from the place the Lord has given themto live their lives on the earthgiven full worth and value because we are all made in His image. We are to intercede and take action, for righteousness and justice are the foundation of Your throne; Mercy and truth go before Your face. (Psalm 89:14). The Lord is calling the church and leaders of our nation to listen to His voice of true justice and to defend the defenceless and to not allow this bloodshed to continue. It has now been over 50 years since abortion was made legal in Australia. Together, as one, let us agree with heaven that all lives matterthey are given by the Lord and we must stand up now as the church to pray, speak up and take action. Prayer Heavenly Father, thank You for the gift of life! We stand in agreement with Your Word and pray for true justice in Australia. We humble ourselves and pray, we confess the sins of our nation in our partnering with death. Thank you for the blood of Jesus powerfully crying Mercy! over our land. We ask that you, Lord, to hold to account those who are pushing for the destruction of lives. Establish leaders and a justice system for life, especially for the unborn and the defenceless. We thank you that everything that is being twisted and lied about, everything moving swiftly in our nation for the destruction of human life, is coming under Your mighty sword (Isaiah 27:1). May those who love You keep watch, pray, take action and speak courageously the truth about the impact of abortion and euthanasia. Lord, may the power of Your justice flow through Your people with wisdom, to speak with all those who have been given positions to govern who make decisions for life in our nation. We speak to the mountains hindering justice in the upcoming elections in QLD, ACT, USA and NZ, the Termination of Pregnancy (Abortion to birth) Bill in South Australia, and euthanasia bills. We declare you be cast into the sea and be no more! Lord, let Your truth and light guide Australia to her true destiny! In Jesus’ powerful and redeeming name, Amen. 14.01.2022 Friends and family all over the world Please pray urgently for Victoria, Australia Pray the Omnibus Bill doesn’t make it through the upper house next week.... Proposed amendments to the Public Health and Wellbeing Act 2008 would allow the government to appoint any person or class of person it likes, including a public servant not employed under the Public Service Act, as an ‘authorised officer’ to enforce emergency powers. Authorised officers possess wide-ranging powers including entry, search, seizure and detention. Amendments also expand powers to pre-emptively detain ‘high-risk’ individuals without an offence having occurred, and keep the person detained for an undefined period. An authorised officer only needs to be satisfied that they ‘reasonably believe’ that a person is a ‘high risk’ individual and is likely to refuse of fail to comply with a direction. This gives extraordinary power for a person to be arbitrarily detained. Can also keep parents from their children for up to 30 months. 12.01.2022 Reverence for All Human Life Archbishop Anthony Fisher Intention Despite our sinful treatment of each other, God values each of us immensely and teaches us reve...rence for all human life. Scripture Come now, you rich, weep and howl for the miseries that are coming upon you. Your riches have rotted and your garments are moth-eaten. Your gold and silver have rusted, and their rust will be evidence against you and will eat your flesh like fire. You have laid up treasure for the last days. Behold, the wages of the labourers who mowed your fields, which you kept back by fraud, cry out; and the cries of the harvesters have reached the ears of the Lord of hosts. You have lived on the earth in luxury and in pleasure; you have fattened your hearts in a day of slaughter. You have condemned, you have killed the righteous man; he does not resist you. James 5:1-6 Reflection Every human life is, from conception, created by God and is infinitely precious in His sight. God’s plan for every human life is that we might have life, and life to the full (John 10:10). This is not some idiosyncratic Christian obsession; any deep and rich humanism puts the dignity of the human person first. But the Good News of Jesus Christ is that despite all the evil for which we human beings are responsible, despite all those things we do, still God so loved the world and gave His only Son, that we might have eternal life. The God of love does not abandon us even when we act out of hate; the God of life does not turn His back on us even when our civilisation deals in death; the God of peace does not despair of us even as we make terrible war on unborn and newborn, and young men and old women. But in the face of innumerable indignities perpetrated by humanity and suffered by victims, God and His people return with words of love, with hope for life, and with the balm of peace. Beware, says St. James; hear his chilling final words that to live your life of comfort and luxury you allowed slaughter to continue: It was you who condemned the innocent and killed them; they offered you no resistance. And if that sounds like St. James or Christians are getting too political, it must be that Jesus is getting political when He says of us that it is better to chop off your hand or foot or pluck out your eye than to get in the way of one of these little onesget in the way of them having life, and life to full (Matthew 18:8). But much better than being lame or blind, we can join Christ in the defence of the defenceless, including the newly conceived or soon to be dead, all life, each an image of God. Prayer We pray that You send Your Holy Spirit to awaken in each of us a new reverence for all human life, so that we might reverence and welcome every human person; especially the unborn members of our human family. Fill us with love and compassion, make us Ambassadors of Life wherever there is a culture of death, that one day there will be no more killing, hatred or fear of any human being. Amen. 12.01.2022 Repentance Brings Renewal Kym Farnik Intention In times of great opposition and peril, it is important to know we already have victory and life in the mighty an...d wonderful name of Jesus. Scripture Then I heard a loud voice saying in heaven, Now salvation, and strength, and the kingdom of our God, and the power of His Christ have come, for the accuser of our brethren, who accused them before our God day and night, has been cast down. And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony, and they did not love their lives to the death. Therefore rejoice, O heavens, and you who dwell in them! Woe to the inhabitants of the earth and the sea! For the devil has come down to you, having great wrath, because he knows that he has a short time. Revelation 12:10-12 Jesus said to him, ‘I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.’ John 14:6 Reflection We have just come from the National Solemn Assembly, held on the 26th-27th September, which has, I sense, brought a fresh rain in the spiritual realm. We have sought the Lord in this season, recognising and repenting of the grievous sins of this nation, crying for God’s mercy and grace. Sin brings death, and these are a few of our sins: the Indigenous are dying unjustly; we kill babies in the womb; we kill old people through euthanasia; we sell our children on the streets through prostitution; and we have enabled by our inaction an anti-father, anti-family, anti-holy marriage, and immoral agenda. As a result, we have cried out to the Lord and thus we expect a wave of conviction of sin and also an uncovering of sin in this season as the truth of the gospel of God’s kingdom is proclaimed. The Lord has called us to bring His life to this nation. This wave of conviction is a reflection of us, the Ekklesia (body of Christ), having a fresh fear of the Lord, and a fresh manifestation of His holiness. In turn, conviction leads to a wave of salvations in this nation and region, as weHis churchrise up in the authority and power of the Holy Spirit. This is the call of God at this Kairos time. It is a great time to go forward in His calling to His victory and His kingdom. However, there are problems as we go forwardnamely, significant opposition from godless agendas. We journey in perilous times. There is also an incredible answer to these problems, which I gleaned and expanded from a discussion with a prayer leader in the USA: 1. Personally, we must be fully grounded in the Word, and completely full of the Holy Spirit (Acts 11:24). This is foundational to how we overcome and have victory in this life and the next. Intimacy with the Lord is essential. 2. Lukewarm does not cut it. We must be hot: there is no other way to live! Lukewarm lives will fail. 3. There is a new thing that is not new; the remnant Bride of Christ entering the rest of the finished work of the cross. This is critical We must do everything from a place of rest in Him and not our own strength or abilities. 4. The Holy Spirit is infusing us with a backbone of steel. We will have no fear of death (Revelation 12:11). We are hidden in the cleft of the rock (Exodus 33:22), covered in His presencethe presence of the Lord Jesus. 5. Body ministry is the way we live and journey together. It is about relationship with the Lord and with each othergenuinely supporting, loving, and all being ministers of the gospel and God’s kingdom, bringing the kingdom of God to earth as it is in heaven. This not just about church services, but rather how we live His life together as His body. This is how we bring life to a dying world. We carry the word of deliverance, healing, provisionand above all, salvation. As we engage with the Lord, He has given us all we need, and we are in a position to bring the fulness of the good news and life to this nation. Prayer Lord, I praise you for sending Jesus into the world to forgive our sins and cleanse us from all unrighteousness. We know it is your will that we should not perish but come into repentance (2 Peter 3:9). Today, we repent of all our sins and not following your ways. We declare the truth of the gospel of the kingdom of God, and speak Your deliverance, provision, healing, and above all, salvation for Australia. We ask for life for Australia as You, Lord Jesus are life itself (John 14:6). It is Your life we seek for this nation. Amen. 11.01.2022 Remove the Enemy, Conquer the Land Andrew Smith Intention We are expected to use our authority in Christ to block and remove the schemes of our enemy.... Scripture Keep a cool head. Stay alert. The Devil is poised to pounce, and would like nothing better than to catch you napping.1 Peter 5:8 The weapons we fight with are not the weapons of the world. On the contrary, they have divine power to demolish strongholds.2 Corinthians 10:4 Reflection It should be no surprise that we have opponents in the kingdom work. I’ve always thought the romanticised utterance, If God be for us who can be against us? (Romans 8:31) was something of daft question. Team Satan is against usalong with his ‘useful captives’. In the beginning when God created the earth, he gave man dominion over it. Yes, God is ultimately in charge of all that exists, but man has sovereignty and control over the earth. When we pray to God and ask him to do things, we are effectively giving permission on a legal level. If our requests are in line with God’s will, then He will respond, and it will happen. Therefore, we are exhorted to pray as much as possible and in all matters (Ephesians 6:18), and to have faith that it will be done. This act of speaking and ‘giving permission’ works the same for our witchcraft-based opponents. Their prayers enable demonic spirits to hinder and oppress. The atmosphere changes and every good thing becomes difficult and contentious. Even ridiculously bad things are proposed. This isn’t just an overseas thing. Witches and warlocks are active in Australia, with a prayer discipline that puts most Christians to shame. The good news is you can still demolish their achievements as local praying churches have. Don’t let yourself be afraid at the mention of witchcraft. Ignore all Hollywood has taught you. In Christ we have the straightforward authority to demolish their strongholds (2 Corinthians 10:4). All of us are commanded to deal with this by Paul, who himself felt its buffeting (1 Thessalonians 2:18) and learned to deal with it. This is what Paul referred to as the good fight of faith. (It’s always a good fun fight when winning is easier). https://youtu.be/HtnRtvjxwt0 It is to my quiet shame that I never realised the biblical attributes of witchcraft, nor the instruction to actively block it. (Note to self: read Bible more). I had assumed a more spiritual person was handling it. Well, I can reveal to you from my long-term insider’s knowledge that the pro-life community in Australia has been suffering under a witchcraft attack for likely decades. Watching Ps Tim Sheet’s sermon on witchcraft, all the boxes were ticked. And to think we’d been putting up with our struggles as our unquestioned ‘normal’. So for about the last four months I’ve been blocking the witchcraft attacks on the pro-life groups and asking for blessing that was otherwise denied. Interesting things can happen when the atmosphere is cleared. Cherish Life reported that One Nation in Queensland has released a comprehensive and detailed right to life policy. One Nation candidates later touted it at public forums as being Cherish Life approved! This is politically ground-breaking, and it gives others something to emulate. Early this year, Melbourne’s March for the Babies organisers experienced a hard to describe slowness that was like quicksand. By comparison, in the last few months they’ve had an amazing run of chance encounters with the right people who in turn were pro-life and offered their services. There were still late issues that threatened to derail their livestream event, but these were always overcome with even better things. Of course, in all this we give the glory to God as He is the one who answers our prayers. It’s clearly well worth doing. Prayer Heavenly Father, thank You for providing us with the means to remove the enemy as part of what Jesus achieved. In the name of Jesus, I block all witchcraft attacks against pro-life groups in Australia. I ask for them to be blessed with more than enough resources and favour to do a comprehensively good job at defending life. Amen. 07.01.2022 Faithful Disobedience Rev Dr Peter Barnes Intention Obeying God sometimes means disobeying evil authorities.... Scripture Then the king of Egypt said to the Hebrew midwives, one of whom was named Shiphrah and the other Puah, ‘When you serve as midwife to the Hebrew women and see them on the birthstool, if it is a son, you shall kill him, but if it is a daughter, she shall live.’ But the midwives feared God and did not do as the king of Egypt commanded them, but let the male children live. So the king of Egypt called the midwives and said to them, ‘Why have you done this, and let the male children live?’ The midwives said to Pharaoh, ‘Because the Hebrew women are not like the Egyptian women, for they are vigorous and give birth before the midwife comes to them.’ So God dealt well with the midwives. And the people multiplied and grew very strong. And because the midwives feared God, he gave them families. Then Pharaoh commanded all his people, ‘Every son that is born to the Hebrews you shall cast into the Nile, but you shall let every daughter live.’Exodus 1:15-22 Reflection The Bible is ever ancient, ever modern. Pharaoh had tried to curb the Israelite population by making them slaves. When that did not work, he resorted to genocide in the form of male infanticide. In most forms of infanticide or sex-selection abortions, it is the female who is most at risk. There are millions of girls missing in China and India today for that reason. But in ancient Egypt, it was the males who posed a threat, so they were put to death. The issue is not sexismit rarely israther it’s the brutality and selfishness of the human heart. We do not know the name of the Pharaoh, but we are given the names of the two midwivesperhaps the two chief midwivesShiphrah and Puah. Pharaoh is a typical tyrant, rather like Herod at the birth of Christ (Mattew 2:16-18). When the U.S. Supreme Court voted in 1973 by 7-2 to allow abortion on demand, Justice Harry Blackmun stated that the cancer of poverty will continue to grow if abortion can’t be applied as a cure for the social problems of the poor. Like Pharaoh of old, Blackmun simply thought that there are too many inconvenient people on the face of this earth. Herod’s soldiers carried out his orders, but these two midwives refused to carry out what Calvin calls ‘this dreadful barbarity’. God created us and will judge usand He has declared that murder is wrong. Pharaoh, on the other hand, says that murder is alright when convenience dictates. Today freedoms are being eroded, as is the respect for conscience. The Christian medical worker faces pressure to take part in abortions; the journalist is expected to slant the news in one direction; and the teacher has to kowtow to the dictates of the Education Department on issues which are ironically put under the category of ‘diversity’. The midwives no doubt feared Pharaoh, but they feared God more (Matthew10:28). When there is a clash between God and the civil state, God wins (Acts 5:28-29). This may cost us our comfort, our jobs, our standing in the community, even our freedommaybe our very lives. Such a choice pressed itself upon the hearts and consciences of these two women, and they feared God. It seems that the Hebrew midwives, like Rahab in Joshua 2:1-7, lied in order to protect life. Christians become uneasy at this, and in dealing with Psalm 5, Augustine of Hippo said that one ought to be willing to conceal the truth, but not to tell a lie. One hesitates to disagree with the great man, but we are not obliged to tell the truth to someone who is going to misuse it. When Corrie ten Boom’s family decided to protect Dutch Jews from the Nazis in World War II, all members had to be committed to saving life, not appearing as good citizens under the Nazi authorities. The midwives feared God, and loved the little Hebrew baby boys. They did not choose their circumstanceswe do not always get that luxuryso they had to respond to what they faced, not what they wanted to face. To fear God and love the Hebrew babies, they had to deceive Pharaoh. They did well, as did Rahab (Hebrews 11:23; James 2:25). We must do all we can in trying circumstances. In Prestons in Sydney, for example, Hope House has been set up to save infant lives and help struggling mothers (see www.hopehouse.com.au). Pharaoh was frustrated and wanted his people, even the Hebrew people, to do his dirty work for him. But God blessed the midwives and the Israelites. Be strong and courageous: If God is for us, who can be against us? (Romans 8:31). What is our obligation today? To fear God and obey Him. What will be the result of that? Blessing upon blessing. Prayer Our most holy yet gracious God, in turning from You, we have turned from light to darkness, from strength to weakness, from life to death. We turn now to You, and seek that You would pour out Your lovingkindness on a needy and wayward people. We pray against the scourge of abortion and euthanasia, and the general culture which promotes suicide and premature death. Christ came that we might have life and have it in all its fullness. We pray that here in this fallen world, we might yet see more of such grace and mercy. Through Christ our Lord, Amen.
