21.01.2022 DCT Chiropractic For the last 4 days I've pretty much just sat on the couch. What I hear you say?? Surely not you?? I have a confession to make. I have a problem with my lower back and it finally caught up with me. I've been in a lot of pain and couldn't do all that I'd planned. Normally I hate taking medications and bluff my way through but this time I've been a good girl and took my anti-inflammatories, iced my back as per chiro instructions (thanks DCT Chiropractic) an...d made myself just sit here. I know we often think we're invincible and that "it'll be alright" but sometimes we are brought crashing down and have to accept our own weaknesses. The good news is that I've used the time to learn how to make cool stuff with Canva and have got my website a step closer to being finalised. There's always a silver lining. Listen to your body, take action sooner rather than later when it's telling you something is wrong (pot calling the kettle black I know), use whatever help is available and remember that rest is good - don't feel guilty about it. #24carrothealthau #listentoyourbodysneeds #slowdown

12.01.2022 Following on from my last post - here's my breakfast using freshly picked blackberries. Chia seeds added for Omega 3 to keep my joints and brain working well. They are also a good source of protein to keep you fuller longer. It's all about adding value (nutritional that is) where you can but still keeping it tasty. 09.01.2022 You know that saying "when life gives you lemons make lemonade"? Well live gave me an abundance of blackberries. Trouble is, they're a noxious weed where I live and I've spent the last year trying to eradicate them. Due to my recent injury I've been getting really annoyed that they're taking over again but then I saw all those juicy, ripe berries and thought "how good would they be on my cereal?". So I picked all the ripe ones and how have an execllent free source of anti-...oxidants, vitamin C, manganese (good for creaky joints) and deliciousness (not a health thing but still very important lol). So when life throws you a curve ball look for the silver lining! #24carrothealthau #eathomegrown #silverlining



08.01.2022 It's too hot to cook anything substantial. Let's look in the fridge: eggs, smoked salmon from the cheap shelf in the supermarket, some left over potato mash from last night's dinner..... Bring on a throw together salad. Finely chopped some mushrooms and pan fried in butter. Add to the mash and roll in quinoa flakes them pan fry. Hard boil the eggs and roll in dukkha (thanks Nikkii Baker for the idea). Chop salad ingredients (capsicums, tomato, cucumber) and dress with wa...lnut oil (I use Pepo Farms).
