24.01.2022 Last night at around 1900 our team was activated to a tree down on the Upper Turon Road on a blind corner. A crew of five took two trucks and enroute to the job they came across a branch down partially blocking the road. The team quickly went about cutting up and removing the debris from the road. They continued on to the original tree down and safely cut up and cleared the road. Both jobs required risk assessment and management for potential traffic. Well done team Sofala

17.01.2022 This afternoon at 1324 our busy and dedicated CFR crew were activated to a MVA motorbike vs car. The location was stated as on the Sofala Ilford Road between Sofala and Ilford. However it was actually located on Wiagdon Hill, Sofala Rd between Bathurst and Sofala. Giving correct and accurate location details to the 000 call takers is vitally important. Thankfully those involved were not injured and did not transport to hospital. Down the EMERGENCY PLUS APP and you will be able to give accurate location details

10.01.2022 The Sofala CFR crew were called to a patient in Hill End in the early hours of this morning. The patient who had just attended a fire with the Rural Fire Service had collapsed and required emergency treatment. Prior to our arrival the other RFS crew members had started CPR and utilised the AED and NSWPF were also assisting. We worked hard as a team of combined agencies to provide the best chance for this patient however unfortunately the patient could not be revived. Our sincere condolences to the patient’s family, friends and fellow crew members and to the village of Hill End as this person was a dedicated volunteer and community member.

06.01.2022 This afternoon the Sofala crew were activated to three storm related jobs First a crew of two went to Wattle Flat to a huge tree that had fallen over the road. They were greeted by members of the public who assisted in the mammoth task of chopping up the tree and removing off the road. The second job happened at almost the same time and was a small tree that had fallen over Turondale road blocking on lane. Three members chopped this up and quickly removed it off the road. O...ur third job was at one of our members house, the awning had lifted up and flew over the house tearing the aerials and satellite dishes as it went. The strong winds also damaged the electricity wire to the house and the energy company were called to assist. At around 1930 we sent a crew of two into Bathurst to assist the Bathurst SES unit with their outstanding jobs. #thestormseasonhasofficallystarted #stayawayfrompowerlines #volunteering

03.01.2022 Shortly before lunch our CFR crew were self activated to a motorbike accident on Turondale Rd, near Box Ridge Rd. When we arrived we found our patient sitting beside the road. The motorbike had left the road and the patient was ejected some metres from the bike. Our patient soon deteriorated and NSW Ambulance arrived on scene and the patient was transported by road to Bathurst Airport where a helo picked up the patient and transported the patient by air to Orange Health Service.

01.01.2022 The NSW State Emergency Service has deployed approximately 100 Members to Queensland to assist them with Storm Damage work, we wish those members who were deployed a safe trip, and we’ll see them back soon.
