05.01.2022 Social Justice at St Francis Xavier Our final casual day this year will be held on Friday 27th November. All funds from this day will be donated to the St Vincent de Paul Society (Vinnies) Christmas Appeal. Vinnies prefers we donate money, rather than toys or Christmas foods, as they can help more people in need with these funds. The St Vincent de Paul Society uses the money you donate to assist people in crisis with:... * food hampers * toiletries * utility bills * rent Vinnies, an organisation who lives out the Catholic Church’s social justice mission, is mainly a volunteer group who wish to put Catholic faith into action. They take their inspiration from a story told by Jesus in the Gospel of Matthew 25: 35-36 For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in, I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me.’ Many people in our Ballarat community are doing it really tough this year. If you can spare a little more money to help those in need in 2020, please send it to school on Friday. Read more about St Vincent dePaul Society https://www.vinnies.org.au/page/About/
