23.01.2022 Architectural Shotcrete at Its Excellency No matter how complicated the natural rock features, in RIX Group, we will match it with our fully customised Architectural Shotcrete (Mock Rock) similar to our project in Woonona Beach. Wollongong City Council engaged RIX Group to rehabilitate the embankment scours between Kurraba Road and Woonona Beach. The works involve excavation, soil nailing, placement of no-fines concrete, shotcreting and pavement reconstruction. A complex mult...i-discipline project with all activities completed to the full satisfaction of the Principal to the highest quality. With the support from our main suppliers, Jamie Szczerbanik from Bluey Technologies and Long Tsang from GeoFirst, we overcame the design and ground conditions challenges and completed the works within the tight timeframe. Other challenges with the project were working at a close proximity of the beach near high tides and sometime extreme weather and a very delicate environment which necessitated lots of attention to details and existing conditions of the beach. The completed shotcrete surface was hardly distinguished from the natural surrounding rock by many visitors of Woonona Beach. #SlopeStabilisation #mockrock #shotcrete #SoilNails

18.01.2022 A tricky site in Surry Hills. Tight access with part of the existing building retained. For this one, The RIX Group constructed the piles, the capping beam, the temporary anchors, the walers and the shotcrete is ongoing, with this photo taken mid spray. 15.01.2022 Here we see The RIX Group installing Permanent Anchors for our Client at their project in Rose Bay. The permanent strand anchors were designed and manufactured at our in-house Anchor Manufacturing Facility. The larger anchors consisted of 30 x 15.2mm strands x 30m long, with test loads around 500 Ton. All anchors were installed by crane. The anchors were stressed to a stringent testing regime, using a 975 Ton hydraulic jack, which in itself weighed 2.0 Ton.... Anchor plates were also design and manufactured by RIX, heavy duty 500mm x 500mm x 90mm plate with certified lifting points. The anchor specification required a 100 year design life. After installation, all anchor peno's were cleared of any debris and water, with any remaining small fragments and dust removed with a vacuum. The peno's were then flood grouted with Bluey HE80 grout, surrounding the anchor plates. Once stressed, all strands were cut back to the barrel which was then coated in Nitoprime Zincrich for additional corrosion protection. The final step was to reinstate the peno with non shrink grout and a trowel finish. This is highly specialist and technical work. All undertaken in house, from design to manufacture through to installation and delivered to the highest quality. #groundengineering

15.01.2022 September 2020 marked the final milestone and practical completion of our project at the Arnotts Factory Upgrade located in Huntingwood NSW. We started with clearing and bulk earthworks in May 2019 and finished with the final asphalting works in September 2020. Our scope involved:... Moving 12,000m3 of dirt for bulk cut and fill works; Demolition of 3,000m2 of concrete pavement; Design and construction of shoring and structural piles; Installation of structural hold down bolts to strict tolerance; Installation of capping beam and shotcrete; Detail excavation for footings and a substantial underground storage tank; Supply and placement of a stabilised basecourse for the new 5,000m2 warehouse; Supply and placement of basecourse for a 3,000m2 concrete hardstand, including remediation works and lime stabilising of the subgrade. Supply and placement of pavement materials and kerbing including asphalting for a 2,500m2 perimeter road; Thank you to our subcontractors for helping us on the project and FDC Construction and Fitout for giving us the opportunity to complete the works. #civils #earthworks #designandconstruct #shoring #piling #asphalting

07.01.2022 RIX Demolition & Earthworks Pty Ltd were contracted by Sutherland Shire Council to demolish and clear two very overgrown adjacent properties in Oyster Bay NSW. One of the houses was constructed back in the early 20th century, circa. 1930 and was the first house in the Oyster Bay Area. Asbestos removal, demolition and site clearing are no problems for our team.... #demolition #asbestosremoval #siteclearing
